Chapter 2
My fingers run up and down the keyboard silently, effortlessly, and I know everyone's eyes are on me. I can't do it. The air catches in my throat as I Try to push out the word no but sorry comes out instead.
I hear the sigh of John my instructor as he rubs his forehead with a hand. I get up from the bench and turn towards the crowd, having the decency to meet their eyes before exiting and that's when I see him. Them. Her. In the very back row far to the left, the group sits. The curly haired is laughing as he flicks the blonde. The most muscular looks at me with pity filled eyes while the tannest pretends to be looking in an opposite direction, obviously embarrassed for Me while my face was calm and expressionless. The last one met my gaze evenly and held it with his captivatingly almond eyes. It felt like I had been standing there for a century by the time I realized the pointed look the ginger clinging to him was giving me.
I purse my lips, my eyes finding the floor and moving up to the piano. I have nothing to loose. I'm not here on a scholarship-my parents money and fame got me here even though I could have and would have rather done it myself.
I'm not doing it for them. I'm doing it for myself. But even as the thoughts enter my mind my muscles tighten in anticipation.
I sit back down, the long dress concealing my feet as I place one over the pedal, take a deep breath, and begin to play. It is a piece I composed myself, titled Perfectionism and filled with tricky runs and ugly pauses that create an effect only I could desire.
I was not supposed to play this peice, I was assigned one of Mozart's ballads instead.
Once I am done I feel a shudder go down my back and I walk off the stage without facing the audience again.
That was the first time I saw Harry, Niall, Louis, Zayn, and Liam. For some time id wished it was the only, my last. But I rarely get what I wish for and for that I am thankful.
