╰► 14: recovery

ten lets out a light sigh when he finally gets discharged from the hospital.

he's been there for 3 weeks and he's getting sick and tired of smelling windex and clorox everywhere. him and johnny had decided to surprise everyone at home about his arrival and well, ten feels like he's going to pass out again.

a good amount of his scars finally faded, and that horrendous black eye is now just a light discoloration around ten's left eye. ten feels like a million bucks, and he can finally go home to see his babies.

"how do you feel?" johnny asks him when they both get into his car. ten smiles. "ah, i'm really excited! i can't wait to see everyone." he exclaims.

over the course of the past 3 weeks, alot of people had come to visit ten at the hospital— and even some unexpected visits like that one time jaehyun walked in with an entire bouquet of flowers, courtesy of taeyong saying 'it's the polite thing to do'. oh taeyong, you beautiful piece of pancake, ten thinks. joy, yeri, lily and seulgi even visited him, but it was more or less seulgi who visited, since the others still had to watch and make sure the kids didn't set the house on fire.

johnny hums, putting the car in drive. ten goes quiet, in deep thought. "do...do they know that yoomin is...?" he hesitantly asks, glancing at the alpha. "they do. it was reported on the news, too— so alot of people know." ten frowns at the alpha's exasperated tone.

alot of people must be questioning what happened to their relationship instead of minding their own business. poor johnny.

"oh. how are you holding up?" ten's voice is so soft and gentle that johnny prays he doesn't fall asleep while driving. "i'm okay. i've blocked out the paps, and i'm on the verge of filing a restraining order at them."the alpha snorts, glancing at ten who's pouting.

"i'm glad you're okay. i figured you would be a bit more...emotional? about yoomin getting arrested i mean," ten feels like he's on thin ice when he says that, and nervously glances at johnny who seems to be quiet calm.

"well... i guess i kinda got all my tears out when i found out about everything at first. i'm still pretty bummed out, thinking about how she played me like that for a while. i was stupid not to believe what everyone said— i had just dreamed and hoped that she would be the one for me. pretty sad, now that i think about it." johnny laughs sadly, but when he looks at ten, the omega is giving him such a loving smile.

"i don't think that you're that stupid. you love her alot, right? you were just smitten by her. sure, you found out about it pretty late— but don't beat yourself up about it. she won't be able to bother you guys anymore." ten places a hand on top of johnny's hand thats resting on the gear stick.

when they pause at a stoplight, johnny intertwines his hand with ten. "thank you."

the small moment makes both of their hearts beat faster by the minute, but boy, they don't want this moment to end.

the two make it home after a short detour to starbucks, courtesy of ten wanting to have some caffeine in his body. kun had told him not to drink any since it would be bad for him— but ten's been discharged and free from kun's wrath (aka his care, ten just doesn't want to follow).

it was a pretty sweet moment, to say the least.

johnny opens the door for ten, he orders (green tea frappe and iced americano respectively), and they talk about whatever.

this was when johnny had realized, ten has worked with them for a little over a year now, but he doesn't know him well enough— save for knowing he's thai, loves cats and babies, and also enjoys dancing.
