"turkey? hyuck, today's christmas eve, not thanksgiving." ten snorts, placing down the plate of chopped up onions and garlic on the counter.

the younger twin furrows his brows, peeking up at his parent who was then cutting up a whole lotta carrots.

"but—but then what's the big chicken papa put in the oven?" he asks. ten pauses his cutting and bends down to peek at the oven. there is indeed a chicken roasting in there. goddammit johnny, ten swears to himself.

"that's just a normal chicken, baby." ten goes back to cutting the peeled carrots that winter helped him with. she was outside now with her dad figuring out how to work the electric grill that taeyong gave to them just for fun. pleased with the answer, donghyuck hums and goes back to the dining table to color in his coloring book.

yangyang plops himself next to his brother, placing down his own coloring book and two caprisuns he stole from the fridge.

it's christmas eve in the lee-suh household, with ten preparing a quick beef stew so that everyone can eat while preparing for christmas day itself. it was only just them five at the house since seulgi was at irene's place to relax and hang out.

the house was decorated as if 23 (or more) elves threw up in their house, with tinsel, christmas lights and christmas wreaths up and everywhere. the christmas tree had the ornaments already placed on it, with a few pieces that made ten's day (they were a siamese cat head and a shorthair cat head ornament that johnny gifted to ten just for giggles).

"mama! can we just use our old grill? papa's on the verge of blowing the new one up," minjeong peeks inside the kitchen from behind the glass door, looking disheveled and exasperated. ten chuckles, lowering the heat on the stove.  "yeah, go ahead. oh and here's some more foil if you need it," he slips the roll of aluminum foil at the teenager who thanks him before walking away to save her dad from pulling his hair back

johnny makes a mental reminder to shame taeyong of his horrible online shopping sprees.

"what did your mama say?" johnny asks, hands on his hips as he looked disapprovingly at the damn electric grill. "he said go for it, also, here's some more foil." winter says which is enough for johnny to unplug said grill and shove it back in its box. he'll bury that in the yard later.

he sets the grill up nice and easily, sighing in happiness when he finally forms a flame on said grill.

"when are you and mama getting married?" minjeong asks, placing the slabs of meat on the flaming grill. johnny hums, resting a hand on his hip. "why?" he replies, turning to his daughter with a raised brow. minjeong shrugs.

"out of all your friends, you and mama are the only ones who haven't tied the knot or made it official," she says with a tilt of her head. "..did your uncle yuta tell you to ask me that?" johnny can tell how minjeong moves when he asks the question, not failing to catch that sudden look of realization from her.

minjeong groans. "darn it," she huffs, plopping down on the bench. the alpha laughs, bending forward at the sight of his daughter who pouted. when he calms down, he runs a hand through his hair, sighing as he caught his breath. "how much did he pay you?"

"2,000 won," minjeong replies, defeated.

oh yuta, you never fail to amaze me, johnny thinks to himself with a snort.

"well tell him it's a secret because i know he's going to tell everyone about it," the alpha sassily replies, flipping the slaps of steak with the tongs in his hand. minjeong whines. "but really! where are you and mama gonna get married? mama keeps talking to uncle taeyong about how nice it would be to have your wedding picture hung in every room in the house!" the beta says, waving away the smoke that flew infront of her.
