I awoke as tears started falling down my cheeks. I was in so much pain and I wanted it to stop. I couldn't take it anymore. Just as it couldn't get any worse, Father's words came flooding back, "I wish you the best, my daughter," whispers through my mind "look for the bowman."
My jaw tightened as I could feel anger inside me starting to grow. I started to walk toward the door as my Father's last words came in heartbreak, "Im mel cin, Amarathae."
I went down to the ground as I started tearing up again. I then heard the door open, "Amara!"
I looked up to see Legolas came running to my side, "I..I want it to stop," I said sobbing "I can't take it anymore."
"Let me ease the pain."
I finally caved in as Legolas wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a hug. My eyes wandered to a set of boots in front of me. Looking up to see King Thranduil standing before us. I quickly got up to my feet, whipping away my tears. Legolas stood as well, "What's going on?" Asked King Thranduil.
"She can't sl-"
"It's nothing," I snapped looking over at Legolas "I just need fresh air."
I walked out, passing King Thranduil, "I'll come with. It's not safe out there."
I turned around to see King Thranduil slightly behind me walking towards the gate, "What do you mean it's not safe?"
"These lands are crawling with Orcs."
"Are you saying that I can't defend myself?" I said as I stopped in my tracks.
We finally reached the Woodlands as I took in a deep breath. I scanned the forest and got a glimpse of a white stag in the distance. It turned its head and looked at me.
It gave me the comfort I needed to release any thoughts I had about my father, "So, what brings you here to Mirkwood?" King Thranduil spoke as we continued our walk.
"Your son," I said
"What did he do to make you come here?"
I thought about what had happened about Legolas shooting me as I was Flying. I don't want him to know I am a skin changer, a dragon at that.
"He shot me with two of his arrows."
"He did wha---"
"I'm fine," I said as I interrupted him, "I got help from Lord Elrond."
"Thats what he does best, but we should head ba-"
"My king watch out!"
I pushed King Thranduil aside as I'm struck with an arrow to my stomach. I grab my stomach as I headed to the ground. I cling to the ground as I'm in pain. I looked up at the Orc who shot me and my anger came back.
I tried to control my anger as I looked dreadfully at the Orc. I saw it take a few feet toward me, then stopped. That was when I knew my eyes were changing colour. That was one of the first few signs, before I let out my Dragon. I tried to hold it back, just this once. I got up on my feet and walked toward the Orc as I scared it away.
I also looked down at my arm seeing my scales had gone away. The poison from the orc arrows are good but bad for me. That was weird. I've never seen an orc back down from a fight.
My anger was still showing as I felt Thranduil's eyes on me, "What was that all about?"
I didn't dare turn around as my eyes were glowing a luminous purple and I didn't want him to see them. I looked down to see the arrow still in me. I feel something in me. The poison from the arrow flowing through my body.
