I finally woke up as I locked eyes with King Thranduil as he was ignoring Gandalf talking beside him. I sat up and outside to see the light come through Thranduil's tent. I got up and walked over to them as they were talking about something. "What are we talking about?" I asked in a joyful mood.
"Someone's in a jolly mood this fine morning," Gandalf spoke, ignoring my question.
"Thanks for noticing," I said as I walked in between them and headed outside.
Once outside I engulfed a fresh breath of air and looked up toward the sky. There were clouds today with the bright sun shining through the trees. I started to walk further, bouncing on each step. I didn't know why I was this happy, but I kinda liked it. I don't get happy a lot of the time. It's always ruined; sooner or later. I stopped and looked ahead to see all of the beauty of the woodland creatures.
I finally turned around to see the tent's up and put up. I walked over as Gandalf was getting on his horse. "That was fast," I said.
"We should continue," Gandalf said. "We have a lot more to go."
"Amarathae, would you like to ride?" King Thranduil asked.
"I'll be fine," I said with a smile appearing on my lips.
I turned back around and joyfully walked the direction we were headed.
We had gained some distance as it was getting dawn. I saw a clearing up ahead to rest Gandalf's horse and King Thranduil's elk. I started talking to Gandalf telepathically again as we were nearing an open field. "Are you going to tell me?" I asked.
"Tell you what?"
"The Voice?" I said. "We both heard."
"No, is not a go-"
"Why not Gandalf?" I interrupted.
"It will turn you just like it turned your father."
"Don't bring my father into this," I snapped out loud, making Gandalf look at me surprised and Thranduil snap his head toward me.
"Amarat-"
"My father was a good 'man'." I interrupted as I gritted my teeth and clutched my hands to fists. "And you knew that."
"He destroyed a whole city," Gandalf said. "And was gone for 200 hundred years."
"He was with mother and I for 100." I said as I felt my face reddened with rage.
"That's not the point," Gandalf replied as he looked down to my scales upon my arm.
I watched his gaze as he looked up and looked at me as my eyes were glowing. I felt as if my heart was going to jump out of my chest. "I need you, to calm down," Gandalf says
"No!" I snapped. "I will not calm down, until you tell me."
"Tell you what?" I heard King Thranduil's voice behind me
"That's none of your business," I blurted. "And what happened with my father...Gandalf?"
"That's something we can discuss later, Amarathae," Gandalf replied. "When we are...alone."
"Fine," I said as I turned around, but regretting the decision after.
I looked to see King Thranduil behind me as I looked up at him, in my way, eyeing me with surprise, but in a questioning way. I immediately ducked my head and looked at the ground, closing my eyes. "I'm going to cool off and clear my head."
