I quietly landed on my two legs while I balanced myself with my clawed wings, digging in the earth. I then spun around looking for Thranduil. I wanted to see if Legolas was right.
When all hope was lost I lowered my head in sadness. I knew he wouldn't show. I turned and started to take flight when I heard the crackling of a branch. I turned and caught him walking in my enclosure.
I watched as he closed the gate and started to walk toward me. It was King Thranduil. He had shown up and that would mean Legolas wasn't lying.
I was about to take a step back as I felt his touch to my snout, "I didn't think you would show up?" he said as he looked straight into my purple dragon eyes.
I nodded as he spoke again, "but then again, why did you show up?" he asked.
I wish I could tell him, but I can't. If only Gandalf was here. But all I could do was to keep quiet, "I've planted that rose," he says as I watched him look up to the sky, "I've also grown quite fond of her."
I couldn't believe it. Was I hearing him right, or did he just...
"I'm trying to not show her how I really feel," he said as he looked back at me, "if she knew, she would probably get herself killed."
I nudged him with my snout as he put his hands on me, "anyway, I should let you sleep," he says as he steps back.
I watched him turn around and head back into his palace. As soon as he was in I immediately started to lift up off of the ground and headed back to my camp with Legolas. I landed as I turned back into my elf-self and stayed up for the rest of the night. Thinking about what King Thranduil had said.
-----Morning-----
Soon enough it was sunrise and I had woken up to see Legolas standing above me, "let's continue this journey to Lake-town, shall we?"
I gave a sigh and got up. I had no election of falling asleep last night.
Legolas and I had walked a great long path as it grew high noon. We didn't speak a word as we were walking. That was until Legolas had broken our peace, "What's wrong?" Legolas asked as he looked in front of us to see what's ahead.
"Nothing," I replied
"Fura-," he responded "I know when you're lying."
"How? How do you know if I'm lying?" I said as I turned my head to look at him.
"You're quiet and you keep your head down," Legolas says as he looks up at me as I hoist my head up.
"I said something I shouldn't have said," I said as I looked down. "And I get his confession of his love in return."
"You're talking about fathers'?"
"Yes," I said as I looked up to Legolas.
"Oh," Legolas says "what did you say?
"The last thing I said was that he should go die in a fire."
We kept walking in silence as it grew dawn and when we had gained more distance, we stopped, "We should camp here for tonight," Legolas said.
I nodded, "I'm sleeping up there tonight," I said
I waited for Legolas to set up his camp so I could go sleep on the clouds. I watched him walk inside his tent and shut the flaps. I then looked up toward the sky to a full moon surrounded by clouds. There were other clouds out and about as well. Once I had changed into my dragon and flown up and landed on a cloud.
