I reached the door as it swung open. On the other side was Fili and Kili, "We thought you'd never make it," Kili said as they both let me inside the mountain.

"Sorry, someone came with me," I said as I looked around, "so.. where is it?"

"Where's what?" they both said.

"You two said you'd have it," I said in an annoyed tone.

They both looked at each other, "Oh, you're talking about that," Fili said looking at his brother.

"Well show you," Kili says as they walk back toward where they came from.

I followed suit. They led me down a flight of steps. Finally we had reached a flat landing and I could see big pots full of gold. And machinery used to make coins, "The thing you're looking for is ov–," Kili said as I got a glimpse of something shining in my peripheral vision.

I turned my head to see a small open box that was on a stone table. It was none other than gems. White gems. I walked toward them looking at it in awe. I stood above the box as I picked something up and held the necklace in my hand.

I removed my satchel from my shoulders and placed the gems in my bag, "Thank you, Fili, Kili," I said as I smiled

"You're wel—," Fili and Kili were cut off by a voice coming from the steps.

We all looked up at who it was, it was none other than Thorin Oakenshield.

"Thorin! Amara's here," Kili said as the two brother's looked at me.

Thorin looked in my direction, "Amara, it's nice to see you again."

"How long has it been?" Thorin added

"Fifty years," I replied.

“Fifty years, too long," Thorin said as we headed up the stairs, "so how have you been?"

"Not well, I just learned that this someone is fond of me, but I love someone else," I said as I looked down, "and that som—."

I was cut off as we looked up to see another dwarf running toward us, "Thorin, there here," he said "the elves."

Thorin took off running further up the stairs meeting the dwarf, "stay here and keep her safe," Thorin said as they both looked at me.

"Wait! The elves" I said "who?"

Thorin left as he didn't give me an answer, "Thorin!" I yelled after him as I started walking after him, but someone was in the way.

"Get out of my way, dwarf," I said as I tried to push through him.

"Sorry, I can't let you do that," he said.

"Who is it to say I can't," I said as I barely reached the top.

As I took that one step, I heard his voice. King Thranduil's voice.

“...Payment of your debt has been offered…and accepted,” Thranduil’s voice rang through my head.

“What payment? I gave you nothing, you have nothing,” Thorin said as he looked down toward Thranduil and Bard.

“We have this,” Bard said as he held up a stone.

“They have the Arkenstone,” Kili says

“Thieves!" Thorin says as he looks at both the stone and bard.

"The Arkenstone is in this mountain!" Thorin says looking back at the mountain, "it is a trick."
