Percy

I ran.

I didn't know where I was going.

I didn't care.

I just needed to get away from that woman.

Sekrit.

My supposed mother.

The words kept repeating in my head, each time sounding more ridiculous than the last.

I am a Primordial.

I am the son of Chaos and Sekrit.

Perseus Nova Chaos.

No.

It couldn't be true.

It simply couldn't.

I had spent my entire life believing I was Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. A demigod. A hero. Someone who had somehow survived impossible odds.

Now, suddenly, I was being told that everything I knew about myself was a lie.

But the worst part was that some of it made sense.

Why was I so powerful?

Why had monsters always seemed to find me?

Why did I constantly feel as though something inside me was much larger than it should be?

Why had the gods always seemed to fear me?

Why had I survived Tartarus?

Why had I been able to do things that even powerful demigods shouldn't have been capable of?

I hated that those questions suddenly had answers.

I hated it because it made what Sekrit had said seem possible.

I needed somewhere to put all the anger building inside me.

I eventually found a massive chamber filled with weapons, training dummies, and armored soldiers.

A training room.

Perfect.

I drew Riptide.

The nearest training dummy didn't even have time to register what was happening before I sliced it in half.

Then another.

And another.

I attacked everything.

Dummies.

Targets.

Wooden swords.

Stone pillars.

Metal shields.

Anything that stood in my way.

The guards watched from the edges of the room.

None of them tried to stop me.

I swung Riptide again and destroyed an entire row of targets.

"Come on!" I shouted.

No one moved.

I spun around.

"Is that all you've got?"

The soldiers exchanged nervous glances.

One of them actually took a step backward.

That only made me angrier.

"Why are you all staring at me?"
