10 - Meeting the team

Erebus' cryptic answer made me curious. But before I could ask him any other questions, mother called me over to her. She smiled at me, "I have a small gift for you. Please follow me". I was curious because the Olympians certainly did not gift me anything other than their promises on the river Styx. Mother reminded me of my own mom and I wondered how she was. I hadn't seen her in a long time.

She led me down to the training area that I had seen on my first day here. That time it was empty. Before opening the door, she gave me a mask. I looked at her confused "Persues, they don't know you are here. This a surprise for them as well". I wore the mask and got ready.

She opened the door, I saw a lot of people wearing different colors wearing masks and training rigorously. Upon our entrance, they stopped and bowed. Mother told them to raise and they looked at me.

"Warriors, I have brought your leader to you" moving me ahead "my youngest Persues Nova Chaos, has returned after many years to take his place as your leader. Do treat him with respect" turning to me "and you will train with them".

I nodded pleased to begun training again but totally surprised to become the general of the exercitus mortis or the army of death in English. I heard that they were one of the most powerful warriors on the planet and led by the warrior who titled himself as Nova. I was so pleased and shocked to be in their presence. I could not wait to meet Nova. But why was I leader and where's Nova?

(I know it's in Latin but the Greek translation was too big, so I decided to use Latin. If I have any good suggestions in Greek, let me know along with their English translations and I'll change it before publishing the next chapter)

After she left, there was an awkward silence as everyone looked at me.

All I could manage to say "hi" great first words to address your future soldiers. I wonder how Nova addressed them.

One of them wearing a red mask and Armour approached me "hi, I'm Alpha the second in command and held his hand. I shook it "Alpha??"

"Don't tell me anything, I did not choose it. Their majesty's did". I nodded but I felt as if I and alpha had known each other.

I was about the ask him about his origin when another warrior wearing a green mask and Armour approached me.

"I'm Beta, the third in command but you can call me zoi as well" and I shook her hand as well. Beta/zoi strangely reminded me of a hunter of Artemis but I shook of the thought, she was killed a long time ago.

"you remind me of a friend of mine. I don't know if I should call her friend but she was a huntress, a part of the Hunters of Artemis but she died a long time ago. I do not know why but I feel as if she is you".

Beta did not reply but looked like she froze until Alpha kept a hand on her shoulder after which she came back to herself. Strange. Then the other warrior wearing blue mask and Armour said, "and I'm Omega, fourth in command".

I could easily tell it was a female but the voice seemed familiar. I was reminded of the girl whose life I could have saved and whose death I deeply regret to this day.

I was also introduced to Gamma (orange), Epilson (yellow), Eta (indigo) and Sigma (violet).

After the introduction was done, Alpha handed me a sword and we began training.

I felt the thrill I had never felt and assumed that it came from my role as Primordial of Swords that made me powerful. More powerful than before. Is this how the Primordials, Titans and Olympians felt all the time?

I continued to strike Alpha, Beta, Omega and Gamma till the bells rang signalling that dinner had been served.

I thanked them all and left. I remembered that I forgot to ask Alpha about his origin and went back.

Apparently they thought that I had already left for they were discussing something behind my back.

Using my shadow powers, I hid "Thank chaos our commander is skilled at fighting. I thought we would get a commander who would only hide behind us in battle. It's strange that he and Percy share the same name and I wish Percy would have been here among us. I heard he was punished by the sorry excuse of immortal beings" the voice sounded like Beta.

They disbanded and I left. As I was nearing the dining room, Dresella approached me "your majesty, I have been searching for you all this time. Their majesty's patience is not one thing you can play with". I entered the room and apologized for being late.
