54 - The Rough Wooing Part-2

ANNABETH

It is dawn and everyone is getting ready for the battle. This time, we are fighting against our former ally Lord Nova and his team. The Olympian Gods save for Hades, Hestia, Poseidon, Apollo and Artemis. Mother threw a fit when she heard our best weapons would not fight against Lord Nova. But we had a few less powerful Gods and Goddesses on our side. We needed all the help we can get. I, Reyna, Leo, Piper, and Frank were at the frontlines ready to guide our fellow campers into another battle. 

Wait, where are Nico and Hazel? Last night they were in their cabins helping us prep for today, but they are nowhere to be seen. Before I could ask someone where they were, the portal opens and out step Lord Nova and his team. Unlike last time, we did not bow to Him. He stood in front of Reyna and spoke "This is the last time to change your mind. If you submit to me now, we can cease this bloodshed, and I will be respectful to you." "Never, I will never submit to you." Reyna shouted back and spit at him. He wiped the spit off his face and smirked "Attack". 

PERSEUS

When I entered the portal room, my team was already there waiting for me. "Bianca, are Nico and Hazel safe?" She sent me a look before nodding. "Ready to shed more blood?" They picked up their weapons and I pressed the button to open the portal. As soon as I stepped on earth, the army in front of me steadied themselves. 

I saw Reyna at the frontlines with my former friends. I walked to her "This is the last time to change your mind. If you submit to me now, we can cease this bloodshed, and I will be respectful to you." "Never, I will never submit to you." Reyna shouted back and spit at me. I wiped the spit off my face and yelled "Attack"

Author's POV

The battle was in full swing. The Olympians and frontliners were trying to injure Lord Nova while his team were fighting the other demigods. He was relishing the energy they wasted trying to weaken him and dodged the spells sent his way. He knew Frank's weakness and while fighting him, managed to nick the piece of wood from him. Frank looked mortified when he saw the only link to his life in Lord Nova's hand. 

The demigods watched in horror as the Lord used his magic to burn the wood, thus killing Frank. The campers saw many of their allies' fall, including the lower Gods and Goddesses. Ares and Athena together attacked Nova and made a barrier to prevent him from attacking them. For a while Nova struggled and their plan seemed to work. 

As he walked through the barrier, their hopes dashed, providing him with a window to attack them. One by one, Lord Nova took away the powers of several Olympians including Athena and Ares. When he had them by his feet on their knees, with several demigods killed and others weakened, his team was able to restrain Reyna, Annabeth, and Piper. 

PERSEUS

I approached Reyna who bounded in ropes and on her knees. "Look around you, everyone you know is gone. The Olympians are gone." I drove a knife into the hearts of both Athena and Ares making them disappear forever, never to return. Annabeth's screams and cries irritated me, and I drove the safe bloody knife into her heart as well. 

"Enjoy your time in Tartarus, he will unleash all his worst beasts onto you for the way you betrayed me." I smiled at her as her body fell into Tartarus. "You did this to us. I will never forgive you for this." Reyna spoke out. "Really, I seem to recall that I politely asked for your hand in matrimony as part of the tribute. When you refused, you denied my right to a tribute. I am simply taking what is mine." 

I pulled her up and whispered in her ear, "Get ready, today I will make you mine. If you try to disobey me, I will kill all of them." I pointed to the survivors and then pushed her towards Bianca who took her to a cabin to make her ready. 

ANNABETH 

Lord Nova plunged the knife deep into my heart, and I felt like I was falling for a long time before I hit the ground. When I opened my eyes, I looked around at a familiar place "Tartarus". "Hello Miss Chase, pleasure to meet the girl who tore out my brother's heart." 

Well, the battle is done with, and half of the Olympians have been killed. What will happen to Reyna in the next chapter? Will we see more of Annabeth or is this chapter her last appearance? And if anyone can guess what the titles of these two chapters meant, I will mention them in the next chapter.
