The woman looked at those who had bowed to her and gave a small nod, allowing them to rise.
Then her gaze shifted toward the rest of us.
Before she could say anything, a scream echoed through the throne room.
Everyone turned.
The masked leader was still standing over my father.
Zeus.
His body was trembling as electricity coursed through him.
The leader's hand was raised, lightning crackling between his fingers as he seemed to be deliberately pushing my father closer and closer to his breaking point.
Then the woman shouted.
"Nova Chaos! What have I told you about controlling your temper?"
Everything stopped.
The lightning vanished.
The masked leader slowly turned toward her.
For the first time since he had entered the throne room, he looked...
Almost annoyed.
"What are you doing here?"
His voice held something I couldn't quite identify.
Not fear.
Not exactly.
But he clearly hadn't expected her.
Then he turned his head toward the man who had brought her.
Luke.
His glare became murderous.
Luke, however, didn't even flinch.
Did he just... groan?
The woman sighed.
"It isn't his fault, Nova. Your actions prompted him to bring me here."
She folded her arms.
"What did I tell you?"
The leader remained silent.
"You are to help the Olympians defeat their enemies and then come back. Got it?"
A long pause followed.
"Yes."
His voice was quieter now.
He was actually listening to her.
I stared.
Who is this woman?
She had managed to bring the terrifying leader to heel with nothing more than a few words.
Then she turned toward us.
Her expression hardened.
"Have you gotten so prideful over the years that you no longer know how to pay respect to me?"
She glared at everyone who had remained standing.
My mother stepped forward.
"Who are you that we should show respect to?"
The moment she said it, the masked warriors snorted.
Hades and Hestia did too.
Even the woman herself seemed amused.
The leader shook his head.
"You have really become so prideful that you cannot recognize a Primordial."
