It had been several months since Percy disappeared.

And every day, I regretted what we had done.

Camp Half-Blood had changed since he left.

The laughter wasn't the same.

The training grounds felt emptier.

Even the dining pavilion seemed quieter.

Everyone had eventually discovered the truth.

Adam had been cheating on me.

With Amelia.

And the worst part?

They had been plotting against Percy the entire time.

They had been jealous of him.

Jealous of his power.

Jealous of the respect he had earned.

Jealous of everything he had accomplished.

They had manipulated us into believing Percy had betrayed us.

And we had been stupid enough to believe them.

I had been especially stupid.

I had betrayed Percy myself.

I still couldn't forget the look on his face when he saw Adam and me together.

The pain in his eyes.

The disbelief.

The betrayal.

I had broken the trust of the person who had trusted me more than anyone.

Chiron had taken it especially hard.

He had practically locked himself inside the Big House, refusing to speak to anyone for days.

Poseidon wasn't doing much better.

He had become increasingly withdrawn and angry.

Not at Percy.

At himself.

His son had been condemned, disowned and cast into Tartarus because of lies.

And Poseidon had allowed it to happen.

The Olympians had been searching for Percy ever since.

Zeus had sent the Hunters across the world looking for any trace of him.

But they had found nothing.

Not a single clue.

Hades and Hestia had refused to help.

Their answer had been simple.

It was our fault.

And honestly...

How could I blame them?

Percy's fatal flaw was loyalty.

How had I been so blind?

Percy could be reckless.

Stubborn.

Impulsive.

He could make terrible decisions when the people he loved were threatened.
