Perseus
It had been a few hours since sunrise, and my team had already finished their mile runs.
Naturally, they had turned it into a competition.
They had even started placing bets on who would finish first.
I honestly didn't understand why they bothered.
Everyone knew Bianca was going to win.
She always won.
I watched as Bianca crossed the finish line first, barely breathing heavily, while the others followed behind her. They were disappointed, but not exactly surprised.
The demigods, on the other hand...
They were moving at the speed of a snail.
I honestly wondered how I had ever managed to train alongside them when I was younger.
Then again, that had been a very long time ago.
I sighed and decided to give them some motivation.
Using my connection to Tartarus, I summoned two of my favorite hounds.
Rex and Ruby emerged beside me, both enormous and intimidating enough to make even experienced demigods reconsider their life choices.
I pointed toward the campers.
"Go."
The two hounds immediately took off.
As predicted, the campers suddenly discovered an impressive amount of speed.
They ran as though their lives depended on it.
Well...
Technically, they probably thought their lives depended on it.
I watched with amusement as the mile run was finally completed.
Two hours.
Two whole hours.
I shook my head.
"Pathetic."
Next came the drills.
The moment I announced them, several campers started groaning about how hungry they were.
I rolled my eyes.
"They should have eaten properly before training started."
They continued anyway, although far too slowly for my liking.
An hour passed.
My team had already completed all one hundred rounds.
The campers were somewhere in the low fifties.
I considered sending Rex and Ruby after them again.
Before I could give the order, Luke turned toward me and gave me a warning glare.
I hesitated.
Fine.
I wouldn't use the hounds.
Not yet.
Instead, I turned toward my team.
"Begin duelling."
They immediately grabbed their weapons and started sparring with one another.
The campers watched them with a mixture of exhaustion and disbelief.
I smirked.
"If you think that's impressive, remember that after lunch, you'll be doing the same thing."
A collective groan answered me.
I ignored it.
Two hours later, the campers finally completed their drills.
"Refresh yourselves and get ready for lunch," I ordered.
They practically ran toward their cabins.
I watched them disappear before turning my attention toward the two idiots who had been giving me trouble.
Adam and Amelia.
I had been keeping an eye on them throughout the entire morning.
They had cheated their way through the mile run by taking shortcuts.
And during the drills, they had claimed to have completed all one hundred rounds when they had barely done fifty.
Did they honestly think I wouldn't notice?
Magic didn't work on me.
They were fools if they thought they could deceive me with something magical.
My mother was the guardian of magic, and Hecate was one of my closest friends.
So whatever magic they were using, it certainly wasn't going to fool me.
But that raised another question.
Who had given them that magic?
That was a mystery I intended to solve.
There was something else bothering me, too.
Mother and Father had told me that Adam and Amelia had lied about their heritage.
The Olympians weren't their parents.
So...
Who were?
I narrowed my eyes.
Another mystery.
And I hated mysteries that refused to solve themselves.
I lifted my hand and summoned a circle of fire around Adam and Amelia.
They immediately jumped back.
"Let us go!" Adam shouted.
Amelia shouted something similar, both of them sounding more like they were commanding me than asking.
I snorted.
"You two cheated your way through the mile run and completed only fifty drills."
I crossed my arms.
"You still have fifty more to complete."
"How dare you—"
I turned and walked away.
Behind me, I heard them attempting to step forward.
A second later, they cried out as the flames forced them backward.
I didn't bother looking.
They would learn eventually.
Or at least, I hoped they would.
Because something about those two was beginning to feel very wrong.
And I intended to find out exactly what they were hiding.
No one is interested in atleast voting except for and I'm thankful to him/her for atleast showing an interest in this book.
I'm sorry to say this but since no one has an interest in this book and the fact that I have exams starting next month all the way to the last week of January with viva in the middle and two or three festivals all of which will make me busy, I'll eventually loose interest in writing this book.
Please let me know if you want me to continue or stop writing and leave this book incomplete.
