Chapter 3: Getting on your feet

Two days go by and you and Bucky both plan on leaving that night because it's too risky to stay so close to hydra. You plan on leaving in the middle of the night and going to a hotel somewhere in the city. Bucky's wound has healed quite well but it's not completely healed. "Good morning buck, how's your battle wound?" You say jokingly "Morning doll, it's good actually just a little soar." He tells you with a smile. "Well good because it's our last night here and we need to head to a hotel far away from here so they don't fund us again, do you think you'll be ok to stand and walk?" You ask getting off the bed. "Yeah I'm good, it's just soar but I'll be fine don't worry." He says reasuringly. You go into the bathroom to watch your face and you hear the nurse come into the room, you come out of the bathroom "Oh hey, um what's that for?" You ask pointing to the needle in her hand "Your friend here is in a lot of pain, it's just some medicine to help with the pain." She says with a smile while grabbing bucky's IV. "Hey wait, but the doctor said he was fine that he shouldn't be in any pain. He told me just now that he was fine." You say confused and panicked inching closer to her. You turn to Bucky but see that he's still sleeping. "Yes well, James really needs the medicine." Before you could say anything she puts the stuff into his IV with a grin. You remember that you told the doctors his name was Bucky and not James. "That's not his name." You say getting angry, she looks at you confused "Isn't that the name you have us?" You look at her clenchibg your fists "No it's not." You realize that it's not a nurse, it's hydra and they found where you were. She comes running at you with the needle but you grab the needle from her and throw her against the wall. You use your mind control to forget she was ever here and make her go back to hydra. She leaves and you run to Bucky and rip the IV out of his arm "Bucky, wake up buck!" You start shaking him trying to wake him up but he wasn't waking up, you check his pulse and still feel a beat, you quickly patch up bucky's arm and take his clothes and you hold Bucky and jump out the window and run away trying to stay out of sight. You find a small hut and go inside but it's empty and you lay Bucky down on a bed "Ugh, where am I?" He says rubbing his head "Bucky, are you okay?!" You ask kneeling down by the bed, he looks at you "Y/n? What happened?" He looks around the hut confused "They found us buck, we had go leave early. One of the "nurses"called you James and gave you some liquid she said it was medicine but obviously it wasn't since you weren't waking up." You say sighing and you sit down at the end of the bed. He sees how stressed you are and tried to lighten the mood "You really gotta stop saving my butt like this doll, I'm starting to feel like a damsel in distress here." He says laughing a little, you glance his way but you don't laugh, you don't even smile. "Hey y/n, don't worry we'll be fine. I feel fine and we escaped fine you don't have to worry." He tells you moving closer to you and rubbing your back. You stand up quickly and look at him "No Bucky this isn't fine, nothing about this situation is fine. I almost lost you, again! Everywhere we go they'll be looking for us, we will never be safe." You say frustrated and you sit on the floor and cup your face. Bucky gets up and sits next to you trying to think of how he could make you feel better, he rememebers he took some headphones and an ipod from hydra since he knows it always calms you down. He gets up and looks in the bag with his clothes in it and pulls out the headphones and ipod and sits down next to you again. You look at him and he puts the headphones on for you and plays a song, he plays your favorite song Hungry eyes by Eric Carmen, you look over to Bucky and smile. "Thank you Bucky, I needed that." You say hugging him. "So your not a grumpy pants anymore right?" He says with a smile, you laugh "No, I'm good." You both get up from the floor and you look around the hut to see if they have food or water and find some food in a bowl, it's not a hot meal like in the hospital but it's good enough "Here buck, there's some food here." You give Bucky a bowl of porridge and bread and you take a bowl for yourself "Thanks doll." You both eat quickly knowing you guys need to leave soon since it's not your hut. You both finish eating and you find a bathroom "Hey buck, there's a bathroom you can change in here then we can leave." He grabs the bag with his clothes in it since he is still wearing a hospital gown and goes to the bathroom to change. He comes out of the bathroom and you grab a container of porridge and some bread and put it in the bag. "Okay buck, ready to hit the road?" You look at him with a smile "You know it doll." You look at bucky's metal arm "Bucky, don't you think your gonna draw some attention with that arm of yours?" He looks down "Oh yeah." You give Bucky the bag and look around to find a different shirt go give him, you find a closet and find a normal shirt to give him, you take one for yourself since your clothes weren't exactly normal to start with. "Okay let's go before the owners of this hut find us intruding and taking their stuff." You say with a smile and you both leave the hut and go looking for a hotel trying to keep a low profile. You both find a hotel and go inside and you use your mind control to get a key and have a room. You and Bucky both go to the room and you both collapse on the bed. "What a day." You say with a sigh. "Yeah, glad we can relax now for a bit." Bucky says with a big yawn "How are you the tired one? You've been practically sleeping all day, I'm the one who has been saving your butt." You say laughing, he looks at you offended "Hey, its not easy being a damsel in distress okay." He says with a smile "Maybe I should start calling you doll then." You say laughing, he looks at you in shock "Hey no that's my word for you, you can't take it!" He says sadly and your just laughing. You both end up falling asleep with smiles on your faces.
