Chapter 52

2 weeks later

"Holy crap!" I gasped, as I looked at my results.

"What did you get?" Poppy shrieked as we stood in the school hallway.

"I, I got... I GOT 93%!" I shouted as Poppy and I jumped up and down.

"OH MY GOD!"

"What did you get?"

"81% but oh my gosh! Talk about benefit of having a nerdy boyfriend"

I laughed, "not nerdy and hey, I think I deserve it after studying so hard"

"Ha, true, but wow, I can't believe you actually did that well"

"I'm actually shocked out of my mind right now"

"So is Selena the nerd of the group now?" Jordan asked as he wrapped his arms around Poppy's waist.

"Pretty much" Poppy laughed as Jordan kissed her cheek. I felt warm arms wrap around me from behind, I looked up and was met by Harry's perfect lips on mine.

"Hi gorgeous, what did you get?" he asked, the precious dimples clear on his cheeks.

"93%, you?" I squealed.

"Smart and beautiful" he said as I blushed a little, "98%"

"Dang, competition" Niall chuckled as Liz and him joined our mini circle by the lockers.

Today was the last day of school, kind of. It was the last day we will be at school considering the rest is going out observing colleges, going to the beaches and other fun things, kind of like a fun week-ish.

Last week's testing was hard, but all worth it considering I got 93%! Eeeek! I was never really was smart so getting a 93% on our final testing is actually the biggest shock of my life! Well, I can't really take all the credit, I mean Harry did help me study. I can't believe it! My parents are so gonna think I cheated... But I still can't believe it! Last year's tests my best mark was 77% so wow. Someone pinch me, this must be a dream.

I saw Liam and Zayn walk down the hall towards us, I felt awkward, they still talked to the rest of the group, just not me. Well, Liam and I have the occasional 'hi' and smiles but that's pretty much all. I miss them. "Vas hap- ...hey" Zayn said, but whispered the last bit as his eyes laid on me awkwardly. I wanna know why he's so upset about the whole second chance thing, I was just worried... He should be too, he's the most protective person I know, why isn't he scared? It confuses me...

"HEEEEEEEYYYYYY!" Louis shouted, practically jumping onto Niall's back as his leg hit Liz's shoulder.

"Hey" Liz slapped Louis's bum as everyone laughed.

"Soz Lizster" Louis smiled, hugging Niall's neck "Niall's all mine"

"Ha, fine, Liz is all mine then" Ellie said, pretending to look hurt.

Louis jumped off Niall's back, walking to Ellie and kissed her cheek, "Just kidding baby, you're all mine"

"Better be, I'm not sharing you"

"That's my girl" he said, putting his arm around her.

"And you're mine" Niall smiled as he connected his and Liz's lips.

"Good" Liz laughed as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Zayn's the only one still single" Jordan teased as Zayn looked to the ground.

"Prom's next week, who are you gonna take?" Louis asked.

Zayn lifted his head, "dunno" he mumbled.

"Well you better find someone quick" Niall laughed.

"I'll probably go alone as hitch some dances" Zayn forced a smile, avoiding my eye contact. Zayn is honestly one of the most attractive guys in school, girls would be dying to go to prom with him. How doesn't he have someone to take?

"I recon you should take Roxanna" Louis joked. Roxanna was one of the biggest slags in school, boys think she's disgusting.

Zayn grimaced, "fuck off mate"

"You know you wanna"

"No, there's only one person I wanna take but I can't" he said, but quickly regret was clear in his eyes.

"Who?" Jordan nudged Zayn.

"N-n-nobody" Zayn mumbled.

"Ok, don't tell us then! But why can't you?" Louis queried.

"Because, because of the past"

"What happened?"

"nothing, don't worry"

"Mm, ok?" Jordan said unsure. He should just ask the girl... She would be dying to go with him, honestly who wouldn't? If he was still my best friend, I know I would have convinced him to ask her, but hey, you know, they don't talk to me... This sucks shit. Why did I have to over react? I'm such an idiot... I tried to protect my best friend but all I did was lose them. I actually hate myself. Some nights I just wanna run to them and cry, telling them I miss my big brothers. Corny, I know, but they were and still are one of the most important people in the world to me. I met Liam when I was four and Zayn when I was seven, it's hard to live without someone who you've known for most of your life. It hurts.

We spent our last day of school going around to every teacher we ever had, saying our goodbyes. I admit there were a few tears shed but you can't blame us. I'm really gonna miss this place. It's weird, you spend all your life wishing to get out of school and as soon as you do, you just can't let go. So many memories...

I still remember my first day of school, the only friends I had were Liam and Zayn. We just sat around by ourselves and waited for our classes. We were the only ones who came from the same school, all the other new students seemed to have gone to a different school and had known each other. Our old school was pretty far away so no one really came to this high school, just the three of us really. Liam and I had to go here because well, apparently it was a good school to our parents and we had no choice. Zayn on the other hand came because we're best friends and he wanted to stay with us.

I remember I met Poppy in English, my only class without either Zayn or Liam. I was petrified and sat next to Poppy who was with Louis. She saw how scared I was and asked for my name and we hung out at lunch together, that's how I became friends with them. Jordan I met when I tried out for basketball, that didn't work out... I suck at basketball. We talked a few times and he joined our mini group after a while. I remember Rachael was Poppy's best friend back then, when she was innocent and not a slut. Jeremy and Connor, they were friends with Louis so that's how they came in. It's weird how we've managed to stick in one group through all these years. Well apart from the fact Jeremy, Rachael and Connor are dickheads now but it's incredible.

If only I was still friend with Liam and Zayn... I miss my brothers...
