In the guest cottage living room, at Mary and Lori's house, mani/pedi materials were spread out everywhere. There were Nail-polishes of various colors to choose from, along with scented lotions, and foot oils. It's just as good as the spa but better, because you don't have to dress up to go to your living room. Plus who doesn't love a spa day?
Earlier Saturday morning, the girls arrived as soon as they could. They've been dying to hear all about Mary's date with Bobby. Even though Lori had heard all the details, last night, she still listened with eager ears. She is beyond happy for her sister because Bobby seems like the real deal.
A jubilant Mary shared everything. "The date was fun and romantic. He is fun and romantic." She sighed dramatically and told details of the rides they went on (leaving out the parts of her screaming bloody murder). She also stated "We have to go to Nice Ice after school one day. It's amazing! Almost as good as the shave ices in Hawaii. It's obvious whoever owns it is either a native Hawaiian or visited there, a lot." Then she shared that Bobby asked her out. Squeals of glee erupted around the room.
Now the real interrogation began. "How did he ask", "Was it mushy romantic", "Did you have a Jake Ryan moment" (that came from Gemma), "Did he kiss you", "If he did, what was it like", and "You must let us live vicariously through you" (that was Ashley). It seemed like a million questions, but she didn't mind and set about answering each one. She flashed a radiant smile, still floating on cloud nine from last night. Of course some details she kept to herself.
"Who knew a Cobra Kai could be so, so dreamy," admitted Gwen polishing her toenails.
"I knew. I think the Cobra's are all capable of steamy, mushy romance," replied Mary with a far off look in her eye. She turned to Ash, "Even Dutch is capable of it."
Ashley groaned and looked at her friend like she was wearing a tacky spandex unitard. "Dutch capable of romance? No," she began. After painting a bare fingernail, she resumed speaking. "The only thing he's capable of is running his mouth and using his fists."
After choosing a nail polish, Gemma babbled "I disagree. I think he's capable of great love. He just needs the right woman to bring it out. I think you're that woman." She admired her nails and blew on them. Cutex's Pink Neon Frost color looks good.
"No, no, no. There's only room for one Cobra Kai romance in this room. And she's over there riding on magical unicorns scampering through pink fluffy clouds," Ashley contested. She pointed at Mary.
Having thrown a cotton balls at her friend, Mary told her "There's room on this pink cloud for more than just me."
The girls giggled and finished up their nails. Gwen stood up and waddled to the fridge with spacers between her toes. "Anyone need anything?" she called.
"Yes. Bring me a coke please," replied Lori. She began blowing on her own nails, like Gemma.
Gemma then turned to Mary and asked, "May-May when Bobby called you, what time did he say the boys would be here?"
Glancing at the clock, Mary responded "Around noonish. So, that leaves us about an hour to clean up, get ready, and catch some waves of our own." She is beyond ready to hit the jet ski.
"You," Ash began looking right at Mary, "Just want to jet around the island and find the floating tiki bar."
Eyes crinkling at the corners, and with a bubbly voice, Mary agreed. "You know me SO well Ash." She loves the floating tiki bar. It's the best! While not one for alcohol she doesn't mind a social drink every now and then. Plus the tiki bar has daiquiris and those are always the best.
