In the time of karate kings, California sun, and Senior year of '84 one girl wins the heart of the best boy in the whole school... Bobby Brown. Sometimes it's a group effort where two shy friends are concerned. With the backdrop of Karate Kid, follo...

Across the way, a group of boys noticed a certain girl in a coral skirt. "Hey man there's your girl," Dutch said a little too loudly. But he's always loud. They've learned to tune him out.
"Dutch shut up and she's not my girl," replied an uncomfortable Bobby. He looked around hoping no one saw him. Plus there's Dutch's loud mouth to consider. He hoped no one heard his crazy friend.
His friend's girl shyness irritates him, sometimes. He needs to just go for it. "Not yet, but she could be... if you ever spoke to her," Dutch stated with a teasing tone of voice.
Tommy chimed in. "Yeah Man! You've got one year left and you need to make it work Bobby. We're going to help you." If he doesn't get a move on soon, someone else will snap her up.
"No Man. I don't need your kind of help," Bobby groaned. This day is not going the way he had hoped. It was supposed to be a simple first day of school, but clearly that is ruined now. He should know nothing is ever simple where his friends are involved, especially the louder ones.
One hundred percent disapproving, Tommy pointed out "Oh so you're going to stand here and stare, as always... Because you know, that's worked out so well so far." His friend is going to lose his chance. He just knows it. It'll be worse than Johnny breaking up with Ali.
Looking around for the cheerleaders, Johnny tried to encourage him. Tried being the operative word. "Bobby, you've been in love with Mary for three years now. It's time to man up and be a badass." Jimmy nodded his head in agreement to all of this.
Sighing a wistful sigh, Bobby spoke. "And how am I going to do that, oh wise ones? You don't understand. Every time I try to talk to Mary my hands sweat and I can't think straight. It's like my brain malfunctions. She's just... perfect. She's smart, kind, and beautiful." The admiration in his voice is clear. Deep down, his insecurities are flaring up. And they are many and as loud as Dutch. Spying Mary putting on her heels, he thinks she's basically everything he's not.
"Man you've got to get your confidence back," advised a concerned Jimmy. Bobby's confidence really took a hit last May. A huge nosedive, bellyflop off the diving board.
Shaking his head, Johnny added to Jimmy's words. "We all know how that thing with Christy shook you up." His own break up was devastating, but Bobby's was awful. That girl is a total cow and if she were a guy he'd have beaten her up.
Clearing his throat, Dutch thought it was time he reminded them of something. "Every once in a while someone amazing comes into your life, Man. And here I am... Good ol' Dr. Love. So, do you want Mary or not? Cause if you do, then I can help?" His confidence is astounding. But someone in this group has to be. Therefore it's him.
Tommy spoke up, "Look you've got a prime opportunity right in front of you." He pointed with his finger. "She's right there, struggling - with - the wind. So go."
"No, just no," warned Bobby. They're going to make this worse. He just knows it.
Groans were heard all around, especially from Tommy. "Man seriously..."
Taking control of the situation, Dutch stepped up to the plate. "It's OK men. Leave it to Dr. Love... Hey Mary," He shouted. His hands waved wildly at her.
With an agitated voice, Bobby stated "Dutch I'm gonna kill you!!!" He began thinking of all the ways he get his friend back. Dutch hates sheep, so there's that possibility...
Just then, Mary turned around and looked in the Snake's direction. Her long brown hair blowing softly in the wind as she stared. They waved, as if nothing was the matter. She waved and smiled a charming smile back to them.
Then all of a sudden, from out of nowhere, Dutch shoved Bobby forward a little too hard. Catching Bobby unaware, he fell flat on his face. It is the worst thing to have happened. THE WORST! As fell to his face, Bobby knew a sheep is coming Dutch's way real soon. Either that or he's going to hurt him badly, the idiot.
Across the way, Mary saw Bobby get up and start yelling at Dutch (something about looking like an idiot you asshole). The others just stood there laughing, Tommy being the most vocal. She wrinkled her nose in confusion. Truly she thought the whole thing was really strange.
She also hopes Bobby's OK. It's seriously weird, that whole scene. But he looks SO hot today in his fitted jeans and striped sweater. She loves that he's not afraid to wear color. And color on Bobby is... A sigh of longing left her mouth. Glancing at her watch, she gathered her big tote up, and continued to walk to class.
With her power heels in place and her skirt situated, she felt like she could do anything. Maybe even talk to Bobby Brown. Yeah, big no there. He flusters her way too much. Regardless, this is going to be a great Senior Year. She just knows it. Maybe she'll even sign up for the Miss Teen Valley Pageant. Big no to that too. Beauty pageants are just ridiculous and not her thing.
As Mary carried on her way, luckily, or unluckily, for Bobby a particular group of girls noticed this whole awkward exchange. "Poor Brown. He fell flat on his face," lamented Gemma.
Sweet Lori agreed. "That was super embarrassing." She would need to wear a bag over her face if that ever happened to her.
"Yeah, but is he ever going to make a move on Mary," griped Gwen. She can tell the guy is into her friend. Anyone with eyes can tell.
Letting her witty sarcasm show, Ashley announced "Yes, as soon as Motley Crue wins a Grammy." She rolled her eyes for good measure. The girls agreed with Ashley's statement. She continued talking, "It's as plain as day that he's into her."
Gwen let out a snort of laughter. "I literally just thought that."
"He just needs the right encouragement and advice. They could be a really cute couple. And my sister needs someone sweet. After that jerk she dated, she's due for it." exclaimed Lori with a touch of anger.
"Let's see... he's sweet, she's sweet. He's cute, she's cute. She's smart, and he's... fit", remarked Gemma playing with her bangle.
Eyeing the Cobras, Gwen stated "He should totally talk to her, but at the rate he's going he never will. Clearly he moves at the speed of a turtle." What a bunch of pretty boys, who are sometimes total asshats.
"It looks like there's only one way to handle this," announced Ashley with confidence.
Wanting to know, Gemma asked "What's that?"
Not giving anything away, Ash responded "You'll see. Follow me girls." She motioned with her manicured hand. And with that the girls started walking straight... into... the snake pit.
