During the last period of the day, science, I notice a girl come in. She has long brown hair and she's about average height, but the reason why I noticed her so well: she's not clean. She has what looks like some type of juice stained on her white shirt. She has dirt on her jeans and when she came closer I realized that she smells like she jumped into dog poop, died, and came back to life. I covered my nose, the way everybody else was. I couldn't help but feel bad for her, but I guess it was an accident.
I look at her as she walks by, but she keeps her head down and her hair covers her face. She sits next to me in the only available seat. Everyone around her scoots their desks away from her, but I stay in place.
"Are you ok?" I ask her, but she ignores me and lays her head down on her desk with her hands on top of her head.
"Hey," I try again. "I don't know your name, but are you okay? What happened to you?"
"Mrs. Christian," the teacher says, "You seem to be causing a disturbance."
When she doesn't reply the teacher walks over to her, but when he catches a whiff of her stench, he backs up. "Mrs. Christian you need an extra change of clothes. Go to the nurse and get a different shirt."
She looks up at him, but I still can't see her face. He gestures to the door and she quickly gets up and gathers her stuff and hurries out the door.

She comes back, but at the end of class. She must of come back because the nurse sent her back. She's wearing a jacket this time, probably one she found in her locker. She probably didn't even go to the nurse.
"Nice to see that you've changed Mrs. Christian," the teacher says. She walks back over to her desks and sits down, keeping her head down. I lean over to her, ignoring the fact that she still smelled.
"You can borrow my notes if you want," I tell her, but she keeps her head down. "I'm not here to hurt you you know. I'm just trying to help."
Her head turns away from me and I can tell that I'm not welcomed. I lean back in my desk and look at the clock on the wall. One minute till class ends, I think to myself. I pack my stuff and wait for the bell to ring.
Cue loud bell noise and now class is over thank God. I get up and grab my backpack, swinging it onto my back. I turn around to talk to that girl, but she's already gone. Seems like she was even more ready for the class to end than me, although I don't blame her.
I walk out to my locker and see Kate standing there. I smile and pick her up while spinning her around. She giggles, I love her giggle so much. I set her down and give her a long passionate kiss and when I pull away to look into her eyes I can see excitement.
"So guess what?" She asks smiling like a kid who just got cake.
"What?" I asks having no clue whatsoever.
She smiles once again and spits it out, "There's a party at Dean's place tonight! Are you coming this time? You really should I'd be so much fun! Plus-" she puts her arms around my neck and she gets so close that her red-wined lips are just centimeters away-"he has guest bedrooms."
I smile of course knowing what that means. I kiss her like my life depends on it, because the news I had for her was going to break her heart.
"I can't go," I say with a sad look on my face. She pouts, but quickly smiles again and shrugs, "Ok, it's okay! I'll just go with Jasmine and Lydia and Linda and Taylor and Kenny and Xavier and them."
I drop my smile, "No you can't go."
Her smile drops and her eyes look confused. I smile again,"I'm kidding, I hope you have a good time."
Kate looks behind me, her eyes filling with hate. I look behind me and see Kristen putting her books in her locker. I turn back to Kate, and move sideways so I'm in her view.
"You know there's nothing going on between Kristen and I. She was just my science buddy for a bit, and that's all. We're just friends, nothing more" I say in a calming voice.
Kate looks up at me with daring eyes. "She's going to the party tonight."
"You don't have to talk to her. Just have a good time without thinking about her and I, because there's nothing going on."
"Promise?" She asks.
"I promise," I say, and she smiles.
We start walking towards the door with our hands intertwined and she starts sharing drama. "Did you know that this girl jumped into the dumpster today?"
"She jumped? Is she crazy?" I ask half-laughing. "What's her name?"
"Ally Christian, and yeah actually. They think she has some sort of mental disorder. I posted a picture of her on Facebook saying '#mental #disorders #suck #ass,'" she laughs at herself, "I mean really how dumb do you have to be to willingly throw yourself into the dumpster?"
"The correct word is 'retarded'" I respond to her.
She laughs, "Yeah she's real retarded."
"No, seriously. People with mental disorders are called 'retards.' Not to be mean, but that's just what they-"
"Yeah yeah she's just retarded that's all I know," she says cutting me off. Sometimes I wonder if Kate is the right girl for me. We met in 7th grade when she tripped in the hallway and dropped all of her books. Everyone laughed at her, but I helped her pick all of her books up. I was new that year so I didn't know many people, but I knew that it was wrong to do that. I use to get bullied, not badly but whenever I think back to it I can feel my anger rising. I had to teach myself how to control my anger, and now there's only one thing that can set me off; the same thing that made me get expelled in 6th grade for punching a guy so hard his nose broke and he lost two teeth. Everyone in my old town in Florida is afraid of me now. They've never seen me that mad, my friends I mean. They've always known me as the funny, outgoing, sarcastic guy, but they don't know the real me. No one does.
