Picture of Drew's house is to the side!

I lean up against the cold metal of Ally's locker. I look around for her for what seems like the thousandth time. Where is she? I wonder.

The bell rings for the next class, and the hall empties; everyone goes but me. I look around once more before I spot her walking down the hallway. She stops once she sees me, so I walk over to her.

Stopping in front of her I ask, "Where have you been; I've been waiting for you."

Then that's when I get a good look at her. Her eyes are red, puffy, and have bags underneath them. Her skin is pale, and she looks like she barely realizes that I'm right here in front of her. Her cheeks are a little red as if something hit her.

"Did Kate hurt you?" I ask, stepping closer to her and softly touching her face. She jerks back slightly at my touch, then slowly looks up at me; blue eyes full with pain and sadness. Without a word, she looks down at the ground and starts messing with the bottom of her sweater with her hands.

I feel a sharp pain in my chest when she doesn't talk to me, and I kneel down and look up at her as if she were a little kid, my head coming just below her chest.

"Ally, please talk to me, you're not alone. You know I'll always be here for you no matter what. All I need to know is who did this to you. Who did this?"

She looks at me in my eyes and a tear falls down her cheek as she whispers, "M-my d-dad."

My heart instantly shatters, and my stomach ends up in my throat. I can't speak and before I know it my eyes are tearing up and my hands are fists. I have mixed emotions of hatred, worry, and sadness. The emotions are so strong that it's making my chest ache, my eyes burn, and my nostrils flare. All I can think is: How dare he do that to her! I feel the need to punch something. This monster inside of me is trying to fight its way out by changing everything from happy to mad.

As if Ally could see how much I'm being bothered, she says, "It was an accident."

I look at her, but I still can't speak. I can't form the right words to say anything. My mind is racing with a list of things I can do, and my broken heart is beating so fast; pumping blood viciously throughout my body. I find the strength to stand up off the ground, and as I do, Ally's eyes follow mine.

I take a deep breath before speaking. "I'm gonna take you home, okay?"

"I d-don't w-wanna g-go th-there," she says quietly.

I put my shaky hands on her shoulders and look deep into her eyes. "I'll be with you the entire time."

She shakes her head violently, "I d-don't want to see him."

"Ally-"

"I don't want to see him!" she screams, and it echoes down the hallway. Her voice travels through my body, and I can see how much he bothers her.

I soften up, "Okay, we can go to my house. My dad won't be home so it'll be fine. We have to go now because I think someone might have heard you."

She nods, grabbing my hand. I start to walk towards the double doors, but she pulls me back. She takes one step towards me and gets on her tiptoes to kiss me on the cheek. Then she whispers in my ear, "Thank you."

"Anything for you, Ally," I respond and smile.

She returns a weak smile and we walk with our hands intertwined to my car.
