"You shouldn't be here, Alpha you know that these lands belong to us"A voice came from behind Theo who stopped his steed before turning them both to look at the hooded vampire, the only thing showing from under its hood was those brilliant red eyes and pearly white fangs. The stench of death was overwhelming. Vampires hadn't done too well since humans had decided to put creatures into ranks and it seemed that vampires were the least favourite since they needed human blood to survive.
"I have come looking for a wolf that has wandered onto these lands, I believe they are injured and need a wound tending too. Have you seen a grey wolf recently?" Theo questioned the vampire, ignoring his threat and a brow rose when a chuckle came from the vampire.
"I did last night, took itself off to a cave, nasty bullet wound on its leg, i can't say it's doing too well.." He paused before stepping closer to the steed who whined and stomped its feet, Theo patted it's neck in order to calm it. "But I don't understand why the Alpha would come himself when he usually sent his minions for stray wolves, unless this one has importance to him" The vampire taunted Theo.
A rumble rose through Theo as a warning, they both knew that Theo couldn't kill this bastard. It would break the treaty between them all and cause another war, one neither party could afford.
"I suggest you show me where it is and i won't remove your fangs..-" Theo threatened, the vampire chuckled and held his hands up to surrender "You only have to go a couple more miles west then you'll find the clearing, it's blood and scent reeks the area so I can't say if any other vampire hasn't found them by now..-"
Theo kicked his heels into his steeds side and urged it to take West, the vampire could be right, Grace was on land where she didn't belong and unless she got the bullet out; her body was heading towards an infection with no help nearby.
Hooves kicked dirt as the horse pounded the ground, Theo's breathing remained steady until the scent hit him, she was close... And so was something else. Instantly pulling on the reins to slow his steed, Theo looked around for the pair of creatures before trotting into the clearing where he dismounted his steed and told him to stay put as he went in search for the female.
Whatever other creature was on this land, it's scent wasn't something he had smelt before and it made him feel uneasy. He wanted to get Grace and get her out.
"Grace?" Theo called out, his hand instantly reaching for the hilt of his sword as he moved closer to the cave, her scent was overwhelming but he stopped in his tracks when he claw marks at the entrance that moved into the mud and towards south. From the disturbed grass and mud, it looked like Grace was putting up one hell of a fight but he couldn't hear a thing. It was too quiet.
"Fuck...-
Where are you Grace?"
