The Hybrid

Chapter 26

Byron continued his walk through the forest, his black polished shoes snapping branches and bugs as he walked. He didn't want to be in the land, it reeked of wolves.. They smelt like wet dog and it was offensive to his nostrils but he had to do this one last thing before taking his leave with Grace. She was going to be his whether she agreed or not.

"I know you're there, I can smell you" He calmly called out and from behind a tree appeared Maya her crystal blue like hues looking at the Elder Vampire in wonder for a moment before walking across the grass clearing and feel to her knees before him, bowing which caused a corner of him brims to twitch up slightly into a smirk. "Get up..-" He was dismissive as he waved his right hand before fixing at the cuffs of his sleeve.

Watching the blonde rise to her feet he brushed his hand slightly through her blonde locks "I trust you got what I asked for?" He asked Maya quietly who nodded, holding out a small box for Byron he took it from her opening it to see a small lock of grey hair, Theo's hair to be precise. "He won't even notice, he makes us tend to his hair that oft.-" She was broken off by Byron waving his hand again "Yes yes I don't care for the details.. Where is he right now?" He put the box away into his jacket pocket. "He's still out searching for her..- The vampires running around are making him lose her scent..-" Mayra said quietly and Byron chuckled "Good. It will give us a few more hours to prepare what we need. You have done good Maya" He said.

Turning on his heels to leave, he felt a small hand grasp at his upper arm forcing to him to stop. His body recoiled in disgust but his composure was calm and cold. "When do I get my end of the bargain?" She asked him, Byron looked down to her hand before brushing it off his own before interlocking their hands "As soon as this is complete, you'll have the blood of the Hybrid.. Enough to help you and yours..- But only on my terms, remember?" He murmured as he stroked her knuckles before lifting their hands in order to kiss it. "But for now keep him distracted..-"

He dropped her hand and continued his walk back to his own territory. That damn mutt was so easy to manipulated and she had no idea that she was merely a pawn in his game. He was going to end Theo and the wolves, he was going to have Grace as his wife just like she should of been and she will help create more Hybrids like her.. Otherwise her immortal life would be nothing but Hell.
