The Hybrid

Chapter 10

Grace woken by something clawing outside the cave, her head instantly lifting as her muzzle rolled back, warning snarls escaping her throat as she moved onto all four paws, slowly slinking towards the entrance, her hackles raised whilst she continued to move almost silently.

What she was greeted by wasn't something she expected to see. A woman's figure standing there but large almost spider legs scraping at the ground and the walls. Grace instantly whimpered and lowered her ears but it seemed the noise caught the attention of whatever this monster was. Its long boney fingers grasped at Grace before she could move and she was dragged out of the cave by the scruff of her neck.

Yelps and howls came from the grey wolf as she kicked her legs out at the creature, her body wriggling to get free as her teeth were unable to latch onto anything. Soon enough Grace shifted back to her human form and she was dropped to the ground from a height.

Her naked frame slammed onto the wet grass making her groan out before rolling onto her back as the creature looked down to her with black eyes. Mainly curiosity within its features.

"What the fuck are you!?"

Grace gasped as she panted heavily, her body ready to move and lunge into attack if she was picked up again. The woman simply bent down towards Grace, clicking noises coming from her mouth as her long legs tapped on the ground.

"ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ɴᴏ ʀᴇᴀꜱᴏɴ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ʜᴇʀᴇ, ꜱʜɪꜰᴛᴇʀ..-"

The woman finally spoke, her voice so dry and cracked, she almost sounded like a chain smoker. Grace frowned at the woman slowly sitting herself up.

"What do you mean i shouldn't be here?" Grace questioned the woman who in return shook her head before looking around and another series of clicking came from the woman.

"ᴡᴇ ɴᴇᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ ʟᴇᴀᴠᴇ, ɴᴏᴛ ꜱᴀꜰᴇ ʜᴇʀᴇ. ʜᴇ ᴄᴏᴍᴇꜱ"

Before Grace could even process what was being said, her leg was wrapped by a hand once more and she was dragged away. Her kicks and punches seem to do nothing to the woman like creature who simply ignored Grace's protests.

The pair disappeared deeper into the forest, heading towards a mountain where black ash fell and everything around its vicinity was dead or decaying. A true nightmare that Grace didn't wish to see ever again.
