CHAPTER 5

"Bro, what are you doing here? It's been a while huh." Amber said the moment I entered her office here in her bar.

"Have some chill. Why? Is it forbidden for me to come here? Then why did your butler outside let me in here in your office if that's the case?" I ask her back after a bro hug. "Of course, you're always welcome here at any time, so take a seat."

"What brings you in here, by the way? Problem again?" she asks as I take my seat.

After a long day of working in the restaurant, I decided to come here for a drink and to talk with her. "It's not a problem for them, Amber. I'm just tired, and I think I need to unwind because I have a half-day at work tomorrow. I can rest, and my appointment to go to the restaurant is in the afternoon, so I have nothing to worry about if I'm late."

She walks over to her storage fridge, and I believe she's going to get some beers. "Okay. But why didn't you go to Jeongyeon and Moonbyul's bar?"

"I'm not going to do it. They'll just bug me and tell me that I should hang out with the other girls, especially when I'm with Jackson and Bambam." I responded by taking the glass of beer she had offered me and drinking it right away.

"Isn't this not tequila?" I tacked on.

"No. Don't be concerned. It's just a regular beer, not the tequila you don't want to drink." That's what she said, and it made me smile. Tequila is something for me, and I don't want to end up where I started. "Okay. Thanks."

"May I ask you a question?" That's what she said, and it made me look at her. "What exactly is it?"

"What makes you think you don't want to try again?" She said, and I believe I know what she means. "I'm not sure either. It feels like she's the one I'll want for the rest of my life, even if I've hurt her and torn her apart because of what I've done in the past. You are aware of this. I've met a lot of women in business, but none of them stood out to me the way she does. I don't see the connection between the effect and the love to the other girls Amber."

She sat back in her swivel chair, sipping from her glass of beer. "What if she has a new boyfriend?"

That's all. Because of what she said, it feels like someone stabbed me in the heart. "I'm not sure. If she has a new lover, it will shatter my heart. I promised her I'd wait, and I'm still waiting patiently. I'm hoping she's still single when she returns. But if I get the chance. I'll fight until I get her back, bro."

"Okay. Relax, bro. I'm just asking and sharing my thoughts because we haven't known what happened for almost two years in a couple of months." She said, and I stopped commenting and continued to drink my beer.

After a few minutes of talking about other things, she excused herself from me to accommodate her clients, leaving me alone inside her office. I'm drinking by myself, still thinking about what she told me.

I stayed in her office until I was tired of being alone and silent, at which point I decided to leave and go somewhere where there are no such people.

So I texted Amber that I was leaving and didn't wait for her response, instead getting in my car and driving safely to the location. But I was thinking that I'd be able to get there as soon as my phone in the phone holder in my car rang.

Minnie is calling..

I recognized her name when I saw it on my screen. I pulled over to the side of the road to respond. I'm taking care of myself, especially when it comes to driving. This is what we've gotten so far. It has to come to an end.
