CHAPTER 12IRENE
Two days had passed since that night, and Seulgi had not followed me that night or even seen her silhouette around the city. It was a good indicator for me, but why am I sad knowing she didn't do anything to find out where I was? Because I know how she reacts when she does not get what she desires.
But I'm not sure if she still has that personality when it comes to talking about me. Maybe she's done.
Why am I thinking this way when I was the one who left and broke up with her in the first place?
"Pay attention to your work, Bae." While cooking some dishes and assisting a regular chef here in the kitchen, I whispered to myself.
"They're no longer in Venice." I added because Jennie and Chaeng told me that they went to Rome because it was their last day in Italy.
Shouldn't I be grateful? I suppose I should be. They'll probably leave tomorrow. I should be grateful that they may not see me as Seulgi does because I have no idea how I will speak or act in front of them.
Those two days that had passed since that scene in the back of the hall, I'm glad I didn't reach out to my two bosses, because it was going to be a bad thing for me. Also, I'm always zoning out and paranoid that she'll appear to me, but no one ever comes. Nobody showed up. There was no one following me back then. Even though I had already unblocked them, there was no message from her in my social account.
And it's kinda strange for me, or am I the only one who thinks it's strange, but in the first place, they don't have time to talk about my existence. I really should stop now.
I'm not sure why Premo keeps knocking on our door in the middle of the night and ending up sleeping on the couch for the past two days. I can't kick her out of our house because I know she's exhausted these days because Mister Henry keeps sending them away to deal with supplies and such.
"Hey, Hyun," I say as I come to a halt from my work.
"Hmm," I respond as I place the food tray in the waiters' claim section outside.
"Did you see Premo and Jinyoung?" she inquires, and I return to the monitor to prepare the next dish and mark it pending so that they know someone is working on it.
"Mister Henry tells them to look for the supplies that will be delivered today; they'll be back maybe after working hours because it's in the cargo ship, and I believe they have somewhere else to go after that." I said, and she nodded and didn't ask for anything else before we resumed our work, even though we were wearing masks to protect the foods we weren't allowed to talk about much.
Wheein also didn't ask why we left the event so abruptly that night and saw Premo's face had been beaten up, but I believe Premo lied to her to cover up that scenario. She's defending me once more.
So when it was time for lunch. Jean and Jihyo approached Wheein and me while we were eating, holding a tray of their foods.
"Hey, I heard something exciting about Mister Henry and the guard outside when I walked passed them," Jean says, but I don't stop eating and keep eating. Wheein inquires, "What is it?"
"I think they'll be visitors later. Big names, I think." Jean responded, shaking her head as I glanced at her while munching on some foods, and at that exact moment, Mister Henry entered our place, greeted us, and signaled us to take our seats back.
"I know you're enjoying your lunch right now, but let me inform you that someone made a reservation later to eat here in the restaurant, and I want the whole team to work with their foods later, especially you, Hyun. Lead them all. Those are well-known people, so we must do our best again and give them a food shot," Mister Henry said as he walked out.
