CHAPTER 18JISOO
"Good day, CEO Kim." Employees kept greeting me all the way out when I went inside the building and walked through my office, and I had just dropped my wife off at the Manoban's Empire building earlier and was heading here right away with a nice goodbye kiss on her lips.
"Hello and good morning." I returned their greeting while also smiling at them. They are showing me respect, so I should reciprocate.
For a long time, days had passed. It's been two and a half months since we went to Italy and returned home before Seulgi, and it's been two and a half months since Seulgi returned home and became cold. And I despise that aspect of her. It irritates me to no end. She's icy to the bone.
At her workplace, she is cold and a workaholic. She keeps leaving the country, and I have no idea what the f*ck she's up to. I understand that some of her business is similar to ours, and that she is attending some events outside of Sokor.
Their restaurants are becoming well-known in the surrounding counties, and they are planning to build their first ever branch outside the country, which has kept her busy as well, which is fine, but for the freaking sake. She barely speaks to us and can't even send a message to our group chat after two months.
We got to the point where we were bombarding her with notifications, and she just blocked us for about two days. She told us that we were bothering her and that she was too busy to care about us. What the f*ck is the matter with her? We didn't know what happened between her and Bae when she stayed and extended her days before, but she did tell us one sentence.
'I'm not sure where to tell you this. Simply ask her if you want, and you'll be grateful if she tells the truth. I'm not interested in her anymore. I'm done.'
And that was the beginning that shocked us all while also piqued our interest and left us perplexed. My wife and her squad contacted Bae over the next few weeks, but they didn't hear back from her because she was busy, and they wanted Bae to tell them what actually happened and didn't tell us what Seulgi was telling us.
Perhaps we should give her a little more time before she spills everything to us. Her life revolves around it. We're respectful of her privacy. Perhaps we should accept that they will not marry. That whatever happened between them previously is irreversible. We also did not inform Seulgi of her false accusations against Bae because our wives had told us not to.
Whatever happened in Italy between them will remain in Italy. If they're going to tell us, that's great because it means they're honest, but I don't think they'll tell us for a while. We'll let them go, and we're not going to deny the possibility of a second chance.
Seulgi fixed herself for Bae and cleaned up the mess she made before, and I'm happy for her because it was all planned. She waited for Bae to return, but she ran into her unexpectedly. We saw her, and it was a disaster. Irene, on the other hand, develops into the woman she is today. She grows more self-sufficient, matures, and is able to endure and adapt in a new environment. I and everyone else thought they'd end up together once they met again, but we were all wrong because they didn't and the scenario became worse.
Sighing, I didn't think of it when I finally got to my office floor. Nayeon also greeted me, and I returned the greeting before entering my office. I know she's going inside to remind me of whatever schedule I have for today, so I left the door slightly open and didn't close it to allow her to easily get in.
Yawning, Nayeon arrived, just as I had predicted. "Before I came here, I ordered some coffee for you." She said it right away, and I nodded.
"Okay. Thankyou." I replied with a smile. Maybe Nayeon noticed my appearance today because I hadn't gotten enough sleep because my daughter entertained us all night until two a.m., but that's okay. She's like a little princess to us. She's our daughter.
