CHAPTER 22LISA
"Are you coming with me later?" I ask Chaeng, who is standing in front of me in my office, because I had called her for a re-ask in my schedule this afternoon. "Of course I will, I work as your secretary. Aside from that, I need to be present to take notes on the meeting's key points. You are the one who altered the plan and the one who changed the location of your meeting with her today based on what you told me, and I just did my job here." She responded to me.
"Why am I even telling you that we'll be meeting in Kim's Company if they can come here?" I give my response.
"Because it's the company label meeting, and your two teams have been assigned to discuss it and then present the building that you had visualized." Chaeng replied to me, leaving me to sighed. "Alright. Thanks." I said this and stopped arguing with her, and she smiled at me before walking out, but she stopped walking when she was about to close the door. "It'll be ten minutes from now, Lalisa."
"I'm sure you don't need to remind me of the time again. You said it five times in a row to me." I inform her. "Even if that is the case. I'm just bringing it up again. Uh-oh. Bye." She then shut the door behind her. So I didn't do anything else while waiting for the time to come for a meeting with Kim's team, and I started fixing my table and organizing the folders and books that I was reading into it when I got a call from my wife.
Hon is calling..
"Yes, babe?" I answer the phone as soon as I receive it and pick up her call, and I can hear her on the other end of the line talking to someone related to her work. So I just let her finish talking with that person before she came to talk to me, and it didn't take her long.
'I'm sorry about that. It is only a small amount of effort required to instruct. By the way. Hon, did you already go to Kim's Company?' She enquired.
"No. I'm still in my office, but we'll be leaving in 10 minutes. I'm just finishing up some paperwork. Why? Did you call because you missed me?" I said this, and I heard her tsk on the other end of the phone, which made me laugh. I can picture her reaction. "I was aware of it. You're missing me. I miss you as well, Babe." I added, and she laughed again.
'You're exaggerating yourself, Lalisa Manoban. I didn't miss you at all.' She responds, and even though she isn't looking at me right now, I use my right hand to hold my chest as if it were hurting.
"Jennie, are you literally hurting me right now? Manoban, Ruby Jane Kim?"
'Put a stop to it.' She says something, but I can hear her laughing.
"It hurts in my meow meow, you understand." I make a joke, which makes her laugh even harder.
"Okay, that's it. What is the significance of your addressing me as babe?" I became more serious when I asked her when she was no longer laughing at me.
'Nothing. I just called to see if you were already leaving because of the twins. We'll most likely be late returning home.' She stated. And I understand what she's saying.
"It's fine, hon. I'll tell Mom later. The twins will be fine with it because it's Jeongyeon and Nayeon's special day, and we'll be there to support them, and I'm hoping that it will end up like the plan that she wants."
'I'm sure they will, and Jeongyeon will get the answer. I'm overjoyed for them in advance.' My wife stated.
"I am as well, and I am proud of her for being so brave and strong in the face of such adversity. Okay, I'll pick you up after the meeting." I said.
