SB21 - Things Needed To Forget

CHAPTER 21

SEULGI

When someone knocks on my door, I am in the middle of working on some papers about restaurants in my office. Being busy is preferable to being bored. Bored walked away a long time ago. For me, busy is always present. The best thing you can do is stay busy and work hard so you don't think about it all the time.

Work is the best antidote to sadness. I just try to keep myself busy. I find that when I record my emotions, I don't feel as depressed. It's very easy to become depressed. It occasionally makes me feel better. It sometimes makes me feel the same way. However, the same squared. So, monumentally similar.

"Please come in." I said it but didn't look at it because I was still focused on the folder I was reading. I'm not going to convert my door into a high-tech one because we previously agreed that the three of us would be separated into three different buildings and cities.

There will be a CEO in one building who will control and lead. So we decided to go for it and split up in different cities. Just the floor where each of us will be isn't finished yet, and it's still under construction and being renovated with some of the designs that we wanted.

"Does your work take precedence over mine, Kang Seulgi?" I realized who it was when someone spoke just as the door closed. I come to a halt in my work and look at the person, smiling.

"I'm now envious." She said that, which made me smile even bigger at her. So I get out of my seat and walk over to her, giving her a warm hug and greetings. This lady isn't the type to wait for you, and if that happens, you're doomed.

"Mom, of course not. What exactly are you doing here? You didn't tell me you'd be here today, so I should be able to greet you better than this." I hugged my Mom, and she kissed me on the cheeks next.

"It's all right, sweetie. I just wanted to pay you a visit, and since I was passing by the restaurant, I decided to stop by here." My mother responded. I directed her to the mini-living room inside my office where we could sit and talk.

"Do you want to eat something, Mom? I'll contact the chefs or notify Wendy and Joy downstairs." After we've been seated, I ask my mother. "No way, sweetie. I had just gotten some coffee and a pie."

"Okay." Look at her, I said. When she looks away from me, she scans my office. "How are you doing? You haven't visited us in our home in about two weeks. Is there an issue?"

"Mom, nothing. I'm just too busy here at the restaurant and with my other overseas projects, especially since we're expanding into new countries. And I'm fine, Mom. There is nothing to be concerned about. I had planned to go, but my plans were always derailed by my busy schedule, urgent meetings, and clients, which left me tired and exhausted." I replied to her and smiled for the third time, but my mother did not return my smile. She looks serious and fierce, as if I did something wrong to make her look that way.

"Does it sound true?" She asks me a question that perplexes me. "Mom, what is true? What exactly do you mean?" I ask her again.

"That you're dating with a model named YooA? The article that has been widely disseminated on the internet. I also saw your photo of her. I'm wondering if that was the only photo they saw and captured of you and her."

Without hesitation. I responded right away. "Yes Mom. That is real. We're dating." I responded to her, and I could see the shock on her face.

"I'm sorry if I didn't tell you, but we have plans to formally tell you about this when I have time to go to the house, and that's when I will formally introduce you to her and to Dad."
