SPECIAL CHAPTERLISA
"Jaehee, where is your twin?" I asked our son, who is now playing by himself inside my office after the brief meeting between me and the team was completed. As far as I know, when I leave them both here, they are playing with their cars and legos, but the other twin is not present. If he ever went outside, I would notice him right away. But I didn't. He isn't with Chae either.
"He went by with Bumble Bee to the cafeteria, Dada." When he said those to me, I nodded. Even though they'll be four years old soon. I can't help but smile because they're still calling Bambam Bumble Bee and Jackson Optimus as a result of the other squad teasing and teaching our twins about naming.
It's been a year since that near-tragedy struck the entire squad, sending our lives into a tailspin over Irene's health, but I'm glad she made it and is healthy alongside Seulgi and their son. I can't help but think that our twins will be three before we know it, and that we just celebrated their birthdays in the village to the large oval arena.
And with the assistance of Miss Lay, our parents, the members of the squad, and ourselves. Their birthday was celebrated as a group, and the Bae-Kang family in the United States joined us via phone calls and FaceTime. It was a mix of happiness and worry about their situation abroad, but once we knew everything was fine and Irene had made it, we were able to relax and look forward to the day they would return to SoKor.
"Okay. Do you not want to eat?" I ask him again as I sit next to him on the couch, picking up some legos and putting something together.
I know there are smart kids when they're babies, and they really grow up. They keep building things out of Legos, and it's incredible. I couldn't even do it when I was their age, and it was just simple shapes, but their thinking abilities are so different that it makes me proud of them both. It is, however, a simple task for them. Like, Dang. They've got it from there, Momma. My Mommy, I mean my wife.
"I am not, Dada." He simply says to me as he continues to construct the infrastructure. It truly astounds me. Is it really my children? Okay. Just kidding.
We were in that scene, having a Dada and a son bonding while building some Legos, when the door opened wider and Liam ran out from behind them towards us. He just walked into my office because I left the door open.
"Jaehee, Dada!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, his tiny voice closing my eyes tight. "Okay. That hurts a lot, baby." I uttered, and he approached me, kissing me on the cheeks as I hugged his small body. "I'm sorry, Dada." I hugged him back and tapped his head after he apologized.
"Where has Bumble Bee gone?" I ask him this time when he gets next to his twin, and he gives him the chocolate milk that he's holding that I didn't notice when he walks in.
I adore this side of them because no matter where they go, they are always sharing their foods and when the other twin is not present. The other twin will get some for his other twin, and the fact that I am looking at them is one of the things they are doing. It makes my heart melt, and not in a bad way.
"He's with Tata Chae outside." Liam responded to my question. "Okay." I respond to him, and the three of us continue building some of their Legos, which frustrates me because they are so difficult to construct. However, my children are taking it easy, which makes me even more stressed.
"Manoban, your twins will always beat you at Legos. Always keep that in mind." When someone speaks, I look up and give him a fake smile.
"Why should I care?" As he chuckled, I said to him. "I am concerned because I am your friend. An article to be published with the famous and leading business woman in the entire business industry can't build a simple Lego building and has been dethroned by her own children. The power that will be held will tremble the world."
