F i f t e e n : Remedy

Your eyes narrow at Eren's words, "What do you mean? Did he say something to you?"

He shakes his head no, "Historia told me something last night when I went to tell her about," He motions between the two of you, "The terms of our revised truce."

You scoff, "You don't have to make it sound like such a business deal, Eren."

He rolls his eyes, "Are you always this confrontational?"

Now it's your time to roll your eyes, "Are you always this stuck-up?"

He almost growls at your insult but instead he stands up and heads inside his room. You think you've finally pushed him to his limits but he returns a few moments later with a teapot and two tea cups in hand. He places it in between you two and gestures to it with his hand.

"Would you like some tea?"

The suddenly nice gesture pleasantly surprises you but you deny him.

"The truth is; I hate tea but I drink it during mealtimes so that I don't seem rude."

He laughs, "Well shit, you had me convinced."

You watch as he pours some into the teacup closest to him and takes a sip. He closes his eyes and enjoys the taste before making eye contact with you again.

"Anyway like I said, I went to visit Historia last night and surprisingly she wasn't that thrown off balance about you finding out. She agreed that for everyone's safety your terms were for the best." You nod your head with pride and he notices but continues anyway. "But what really surprised me was when we talked about the wedding and she told me that she was one of the council members that voted to move it up."

Your ears perk at this information but you feign ignorance, "Why would she do that?"

"At first I was just as confused as you but she told me that Zeke had threatened her. He told her that if she didn't vote his way he would spread rumors about us."

Clenching your fists, you respond through gritted teeth, "Fuck! I thought we were one step ahead of Zeke but the whole time he was still ahead of us. If only we could've started acting like a couple sooner, then Historia could've voted whichever way she wanted."

Eren nods but breaks eye contact with you, "I feel partially responsible too. I admit that we were sloppy but I never thought it would be used against us by my own brother. Also I might have been able to change someone's mind if I attended the meeting too."

"Yeah, well use this as a learning experience that it's the people closest to you that can hurt you the most."

"Wise words," He teases but you ignore him.

"Are you and Historia still... you know?"

"Yeah, but I promise we're being careful. We only do it here now and I never finish in-"

You hold up your hand to stop him, "Ok, ok, I got it. I don't need the details."

He chuckles, "Right, forgive me for spoiling your poor virgin ears."

You stand up in annoyance, "Are we done here?"

He keeps laughing but after he's done he answers, "Don't forget about our date tomorrow."

You roll your eyes for what feels like the 80th time since you came here. It was clear you both tested each other's limits and got on each other's nerves.
