On the line you guys finish your ice cream just in time to be lead to your seats. The person in charge of the ferris wheel straps you in as the last couple and gives a thumbs up to another person a few feet away. Together they begin to turn something behind a booth and you can slowly feel your feet lift off the ground.

You shut your eyes on instinct, the ground already becoming more and more distant. The feeling of Eren grabbing your hand for comfort isn't even enough to force you to open your eyes but you still squeeze his hand nonetheless.

"Y/N if you would just open your eyes, you'd see just how beautiful this world is. You'd forget about all your problems and you'd remember how you're just a small speck in this universe and suddenly it feels much easier to breathe."

It's the most beautiful and poetic thing he's ever said and it forces you to turn your head to him and open your eyes. You're met with his piercing green eyes staring back at you. You wonder how many times Eren has done this just to feel small. Just to remember that he was a human being just like everyone else and to forget that he barely had any freedom too.

"Look," Is all he says and you slowly begin to face forward, and just as he said you're met with the beauty of the world. From all the way at the top, you can see for miles and miles and your mind can barely even fathom this kind of creation.

The thousands of people below which at once had seemed so clustered and tight now look like tiny ants who march busily along.

Eren's voice brings you out of your trance, "See, it's beautiful."

You turn back to him just to see that his eyes have never left your face.

"Thank you for this."

He nods and faces the front again, leaning slightly forward. The silence between you is comfortable as the ferris wheel begins to move again, bringing you guys lower and lower.

"Have you ridden this thing often?" You question and he nods.

"Just like you, when I was younger, Zeke would sneak Armin, Mikasa and I out to this festival. We'd always ride the ferris wheel last to signal the end of the day. It was like our ritual. But God, it's been years since I've last come here."

Once you're at the bottom the same man that strapped you in unstraps you guys and you hop off.

You look to him affectionately, "I really appreciate you sharing this with me."

He looks down at you, his own face reflecting a similar emotion, "It's really not a big deal. I had a lot of fun today."

"Y/N," A familiar voice says and it forces you to tear your gaze away from Eren.

"Eren," Mikasa whispers and Eren turns around too.

In front of both of you are your guards and boy oh boy are they fuming.

Levi's face is a mixture of relief but most of all anger at your foolishness.

"What is wrong with you!" Levi begins, grabbing your hand and immediately pulling you away from Eren. "Why would you grab her and run away from us? Do you know how dangerous and stupid that was?"

Eren's eyes fly straight to your hands connected and you shake Levi's hand away. The straight-up rejection causes Levi's eyes to widen and he steps away from you composing himself. It's then that he notices the necklace around your neck and his facial expression goes from anger to numbness.

He turns his back towards the both of you, "Never mind that. Let's just return to the castle."

Eren shrugs his shoulders, "We were done anyway, Levi. Jeez, no need to get your panties in a bunch. Look we're both fine, no scratches or anything."
