Waited

"And I choose Agent Cross"

I announced looking straight at her. She met my gaze equally.
"Will somebody care to ask us if we agree  or not?" Asked Gabriel dramatically. Vanessa turned her head towards him. Whatever was going to come out of his mouth stopped. Clearing his throat he said "I think we agree to it."
Vanessa looked back at me.
" Since it's decided we should get going. You have a photoshoot in an hour."
Her words were directed at me. I nodded.
"Give me five minutes." I told her and started to prepare to leave. The disappointment I felt a little while ago was fading a bit.
The thought that she agreed to be my personal guard means she will be with me all the time. My chest felt full.
I was buttoning up my shirt when I heard a knock on my door.
"Yes." I said without turning.
"Are you ready Mr. Park?"
It was Vanessa. I opened the door and found her waiting for me. She was not in her usual black suit. She was wearing a normal button down shirt with blue jeans. Her hair tied up revealing her slender neck.
"Hmm?" I asked.
She did not say a thing for few seconds and then looked away.
"You are going to be late."
I closed the door behind me and stepped closer to her as there was not much room in the hallway. She stopped when her back hit the wall.
Hey eyes roamed on my bare chest for a while before looking down and then moving back up to meet my gaze.

Gotcha!

I could not stop myself from smiling.
" We should leave now." She ordered in a stern voice and started to  walk faster than usual.
"Sure." I agreed happily.
When we were crossing the hall kai was also ready to go with his agent.
"What is your schedule today kai ya?" I initiated the conversation.
"There is a charity event and then I am leaving for Italy this evening."
This man has gotten a lot of attention lately. His talent is getting the appreciation he deserved. I am very happy for him.
"Jinja? That's so cool kai, fighting!" I slapped his back with pride.
"Thanks hyung" then he moved closer to me and whispered in my ear.
"Best of luck with her, don't give up, fighting!!"
I laughed a little.
There were two black sedans waiting for us in parking lot. Kai chose Gabriel so he was waiting for him near the car. On our arrival he walked towards us.
"Have you checked everything?" Vanessa asked him.
"Yes, Rafael's got my flank."
"And is Jun Wu on his position?"
"Yes he is. There was a little problem on the way but he got it under control."
"Good. Stay connected with me all the time. I will stay with Mr. Park but will meet you before kai leaves for Italy. Until then work diligently."
"Hmm."
With that we got in separate sedans and separate ways. She was sitting beside me in the back seat of car. There was only a driver in front.
"Here this is your coffee."she handed me a cup. I looked at her puzzled.
" I checked with your manager. He said you need coffee every time you go to shoot."
"So are you my manager now?" I inquired sipping coffee.
"Yes."
I almost choked on the coffee.
"Being in the uniform will invite too much attention."
She was right. We have bodyguards but they don't stay that close to us during shoots whereas a manager can do that very easily. It meant she will stay very close to me.

" But I like you in uniform." I spoke my mind which was true she looks very hot in those black suits. She turned her head towards me and her lips formed a thin line.
"Unnecessary attention will get in the way of my job." She shot back.
"What is your job exactly?" I proded.
She looked at me with those beautiful eyes of hers.
"Protecting you." She answered. It was first time someone told me that and I believed in that person.
"What if someone fires a gun at me?"
"I'll kill that person before he shoots."
"And what if the bullet is already been shot? what will you do then?"
"Then I will stand in front of you, take that bullet for you."
She replied. Her gaze determined never wavering. My heart was beating fast in my chest. She is willing to die for me. She didn't even hesitate. Yet ahe said she does not have feelings for me.
"Why would you risk your life for me?" My voice a whisper.
"Because that is my job Mr. Park."
And like cold water she woke me up from my dream. It felt like she was cheating on me even though we are not even dating.
"Oh, don't go to such lengths agent Cross, I would rather die than have you save me agent Cross." I shot back bitterly.
Leaning back in my seat I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself down.
I didn't know how long it was when we reached the studio. The ride here was very calm. There was no sound other than her occasional whispers in the mic.
"We have arrived Mr.Park" Vanessa informed me. I opened the door, got off and walked in the direction of studio. I heard her running after me.
"Stop, don't go on your own." There was worry in her voice but after this conversation I didn't care. I was very angry. I kept walking and got in the elevator without waiting for her. Before the doors closed I saw her running towards me.
Alone in the elevator I thought of our time together in the past. Those memories always spread calm in me. I leaned back in the elevator rubbing my face.
What am I going to do now? She is acting as if she doesn't care at all. I put hand on my chest and thought to myself I deserve her hatred.
The doors of elevator opened. The first thing I saw was Vanessa. She is standing in front of the elevator and breathing heavily. Her hair a bit disheveled, lips parted and flushed pink cheeks. There was a thin layer of sweat on her forehead.
I instantly felt guilty. In my anger I did not think that she will run up the stairs of whole five stories. I mentally smacked myself.

"Don't you ever... do that...again!!" She commanded.
"Sorry I won't do that again." I pulled out my handkerchief and wiped sweat from her forehead.
"You should not have ran all the way up here. Look how exhausted you are."
"You should have waited for me then." She retorted.
I looked at her holding her gaze. I breathed in her familiar scent before answering.
"Believe me Annie I did."
