"Are you really okay?" She asked concerned. Her voice soft and laced with worry.
For a second I thought playing weak but seeing her face I gave up on the idea.

"Yes I am really okay." Disbelief was written all over her face.

"Matthew exchange cars with A team and go to Mr. Park's place." She ordered Matthew without looking at him. Her eyes were fixed on me.

"Do you think you can manage to walk a little, just enough to get in the other car?"
She pointed the said car with her chin which is driving towards us and stopped besides us.

I nodded. She opened the door for me. When I stepped out she came to my side to help me into the car.

Now that we are seated she once again reached for my chest. I jerked back in my seat before she could touch me. She frowned but didn't say anything.

All the way till home she kept checking on me.

Once we were home she ordered in her mic to keep a strict watch and went inside with me.

"Mr. Park let me see your injury properly." She told me.
"No need. It's not that bad." I tried to avoid it. And as expected she didn't buy it.
She walked towards me and I took a step back. She froze on the spot hesitantly. Whatever was about to come out of her mouth stopped.  Finding an opportunity I walked in my room.

Now I can allow myself to feel the pain. I groaned a little. Removing my shirt I looked at myself in the mirror. My left arm and shoulder are injured. There are patches of blue and green on my sides and arms. I think I hurt my back too.

I am gonna need ice pack for it. But I can't go out.while she is out there. So I just sat on my bed waiting.

After five minutes I heard a hesitant knock on the door. I knew who would it be.

"Come in." I said covering myself with blanket.

She walked in a bit and stopped after taking two steps in. I frowned at that. Biting her lower lip she looked at me and then looked away uncertain.

She held out a small box in front of her.
"This is a first aid kit. It has all the things you need to tend to your injury. I have also written down steps to make it easier for you."

Very carefully she took a few steps towards my bed and put the box on the bed gingerly.

I raised my eyebrows at her.
"I don't think I can reach all the places on my body." I added. She lifted her uncertain gaze to meet mine. She opened her mouth to say something but stopped. I sighed.

"I think I hurt my back real bad." I confessed.

"Is it really bad?" She asked again.
To answer her question I took off the blanket and turn around to show her. I heard a sharp intake of breath.

"I can call a doctor for you?"
This is the last thing I want. She knows I don't like it.
"No need." I cut in. I was expecting an annoyed scolding and forced tending but when has things gone the way I expect.

"Do you mind if I check it?"
That did it. Turning to her I asked her.
"What's wrong with you?" I demanded holding  back the anger in my voice.

She flinched a little and raised her head.
"I am sorry Mr. Park, I know you are disgusted by me but believe me I won't touch you. I just need to make sure you are okay...rea..."

She increased the distance between us.

"Disgusted....?" I was as confused as I sound.

"Yes. I can understand, what I just did was horrifying and you are disgusted by it and I don't mind you thinking that way..." She kept on explaining.

Enough.

I pulled her to me and crushed her against my chest...hard. She again went stiff.
I heard a gasp from her.
"Umph...?" She was too shocked to continue her sentence.

I continued to hold her. Bending down I inhaled her hair and nuzzled into to her neck.

"You silly woman why would you think that?" I asked her softly.

She did not respond or made a move. I lifted her chin up gingerly to meet her gaze.
"Tell me." I asked her again.

She tried to break away from me but I held her tightly. Her struggle collided with the damage on my body. I hissed. Widening her eyes she demanded.

"Let me go."

"Not until you tell me." And I held her even tighter I don't care if it hurts me I just wanna hold her for as long as I can.

"You have been avoiding me since I shot him." She declared.

So that's it.
I chuckled.

"Did that bother you?" Teasing her is fun.
She pressed her lips together in defiance.

"You wish."

I held her hand in mine and kissed it. She pulled her hand back from mine as if burned by it. I let it slide this time.

" I avoided you because I was worried that you would touch me."
She raised her brows opening her mouth to say something but I stopped her.
"Let me finish."
She nodded.

"Annie I didn't think I would be able to control myself if you touched my body."
I confessed.

It was the truth. The only reason I haven't kissed her breathless was we were not alone. I took me all of my self control to restrain myself from having her in my arms then and there.

Upon hearing that she blinked and hurriedly broke away from me. And I let her.

She balled her fists. This was a reaction she has when she gets angry. She closed her eyes to calm down and then opened them again.

It was like a wall has appeared in between us. She had a blank expression on her face. All her emotions that I could read like a book are shut down. The Annie I know has just morphed into Agent Cross.

"I'll call a doctor for you Mr. Park." She declared.
"You are a doctor Vanessa." I stated.
She smiled a smile that did not touch her eyes.
"That was in the past. And I have decided to erase all the worthless memories from it"

That was a low blow.

"Do you hate me that much?" I asked her. My voice barely a whisper. Suddenly I couldn't breathe.

She gave me a blank look.

"I don't. You don't deserve it."
