Yet her defiance is strong.
I shook my head defeated.
"You know what, do whatever you want. I won't bother you anymore."With that I turned to leave without looking back. I slammed the door behind me.
I needed some peace. For a while I wanted to be away from everything. So I went to the only place that gave my heart peace.
The house Annie and I shared. For all these years even empty it had her memories here this is the only place I had left of her, a place where we spent most of our time together. Coming here on tough days always gave me relief.
I went in and flopped on the bed. This house still lacked furniture. I left it as it was when she left. I changed nothing.
I forced my mind to go blank. I just lay like that for God knows how long.
After 4 hours the bright sunlight dimmed. The dusk is getting closer. Rubbing my face I got up. Ready to go back.
When I locked the door and turned to leave I remembered that I have taken a bus here. I hit my head on the same door in annoyance.
"Great."
Now I'll either have to take another bus or walk back home. But my misery didn't last long. A black Bentley stopped right in front of me. Taken by surprise I took few steps back. The windows rolled down and Dimitri greeted me.
"I figured you would hate to take bus again." He said.
I narrowed my eyes.
"Have you been stalking me?"
He made a face looking really offended.
"At this point you shouldn't be asking that."
Well that was right. I should know they won't leave me alone even for a second."It's kind of creepy you know that right?"
He lips curled up in smile. Making his features even more beautiful. His long hair slicked back neatly. Though his tattoos peeked from his collar.
"I do but then again it's keeping you alive."
"Can't argue with that." I sighed.
I hopped into the car. The car moved through the night swiftly. The silence in the car is too awkward. I tap my finger on my knees. It's just us two in the car. I look around and notice a red spot on his white sleeve.
"Dimitri you have blood here." I pointed at his sleeve. He pulled his jacket sleeve down covering it.
I looked at him in question. He met my eyes and then looked ahead.
"Something came up. I had to deal with it." He explained.
The blood on it is fresh. I believe that something he dealt with were some humans who came here to take me.
Another bloodshed.
I felt anger rising up.
"Why are they after us? Just what the hell they need? We did nothing to deserve this." I cursed in anger.
"It's not your fault Mr. Park. And you are not the first person they are targeting."
"That's what I don't understand. Why us?"
"Fear." His voice echoed in the confined space of car. He fixed his gaze at me.
"You all are celebrities and a face everyone recognises. If they catch you they can demand anything from the government. This will take away people's faith from authorities and the nation will fall into great fear and confusion and the humiliation nation will face is whole different thing."
