Shock

Vanessa POV

It all happened in slow motion.
A gunshot swallowed everything in silence. I whipped my head towards it's source.

I saw the same man whom I just punched was standing behind me with a hand raised in air holding the same dagger I shoved into his shoulder, pointing at me. Just few more inches and he would have cut through me. A hole in the middle of his head. His eyes widened in pain and then pupils dilated as he dropped to the ground, dead.

My eyes found Chanyeol. He was standing near the car. Hands lose on his sides. Right hand holding the gun.

Chanyeol just shot a man to death.

The moment the shock registered in me I decided my next move. My eyes shifted to meet Liu Zhan's. He was equally shocked but right now we needed to make the decision.

He nodded in agreement. We killed every single one of the mafias. Against the orders we received.

Once done with them I walked towards Chanyeol who still hasn't moved. And I see him really see him. His face is devoid of any emotions and his eyes are looking ahead. Staring in the air not paying attention to anything or anyone.

I reach him. Hoping he acknowledge my existence. I call his name in a low voice not to catch him off guard.

"Chanyeol..?"

His gaze zeroes on me. He blinks a few times then looks at me, really looks at me. His eyes scan my face and then settles back on my eyes.

"You are not injured right?" His other hand which was free almost touched my cheek...almost but he retracted it back dropping it back on his sides.

And my heart squeezes. He is the one who is most shocked but he is asking me is I am injured or not? I don't know how to feel about it.

"I am. Thanks to you." I answer him. He nods and don't say anything anymore. I look down at his right hand which is holding the gun. He is holding onto it so tight. I reach out to hold his hand trying to help his let go. He obliges.

I hold the gun and clean it with a kerchief to get rid of his finger prints. Once assured I have gotten rid of them I hold it in my hand.

Inhaling a deep breath I speak to everyone,
"I shot him to death, is that clear?"

I didn't have to repeat myself twice. All the agents here understood the situation and since it will be me taking the fall they didn't have anything to disagree about.

"Yes Ma'am." They responded.

Liu Zhan gave me an uneasy look. Doubts and disagreement all on his face. Thankfully he didn't say anything for now.

Soon everyone from the car got off crowding around chanyeol. Their expressions complicated. They didn't know how to handle a situation like this, they were loss at words.

"Let's get in the car. We need to leave first." I was about to hold Chanyeol's hand but all the guys stood in front of him. Refusing to let me get to him.
I looked at them in confusion.
"What are you doing?"

Kyungsoo spoke gathering all the courage,

"We won't let you take him." I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Y-Yes he is right, we won't won't let you."
Baekhyun stuttered more than spoke but the intention was clear.

"And what makes you think you can stop me?" I asked casually crossing my arms in front of me. They looked among themselves startled. Obviously weighing their chances to win against me but it's not gonna work. The odds are against them.
