Part 16

It's Tuesday and I'm at school. People stared at me as I walked to my locker. They gave me dirty looks and some of them laughed at me but most of them laughed at Paddy, I can see the humiliation in his eyes, and the anger towards me.
" Why don't you guys shut up honestly" I said to the jocks laughing at Paddy.
"Oh look paddy it's your attention seeker girlfriend, hey Ellie is it true you faked the amnesia?" One of the jocks said while the rest laughed.
"No it's not true, now leave Paddy alone, it's not funny" I said.
"Ellie I can fend for myself" paddy said.
"No you can't, you can't even defend your self, you never even said the rumors weren't true! You just let everyone hit you with rumors" I said back while everyone stayed quiet listening to me.
"I don't need you" cold words escaped his mouth.
"Is that right? Because every day when I was in that coma all I could hear is you saying 'I need you Ellie I need you' " I know that was a bit far but no one messes with me.
He left angrily while everyone laughed. I regretted everything, I shouldn't have said anything.
School was over and I saw Paddy waiting to get picked up.I walked up to him but before I can get his attention Veronica got to him first. I could hear their whole conversation.
"Hey Paddy" Veronica said.
"Veronica.."
"I heard about the rumors..how could Ellie do such a thing" she said.
"Didn't you start the rumors?" Paddy said.
"What?! No no no! It was all Ellie, I even told her it was wrong" she lied.
"But how would she make it up and tell everyone she was faking amnesia" hah Paddy finessed her.
" u-uh I don't know all I know is that she made up the part about you"
"What do you want Veronica?" Paddy said annoyed.
" I just wanted to let you know that I'm here for you always!" She grinned.
"Um thanks"
"So I'm having a party this Friday..your invited!"
"No thanks, I don't do parties" Paddy said.
"Oh come on! It will be fun! Plus if your having a hard time I can help you though it, please" she begged.
"Okay fine"
"Great! Party's at 9!" She said, as she kissed his cheek as a sign of goodbye. Then she went towards me.
"What do you want" I asked.
" oh come on! I just want to be friends"
"Shut up" I said not wanting to make small talk.
"Fine, I wanted to personally invite you to my party this Friday"
"And why would I come to that?" I asked amused because she actually asked me.
"Well paddy's going so I figured you'd want to talk to him" she said.
"Why do you even care"
"Well...I just feel so bad about this whole mess I created and I want to make it up for you, so please?" She explained.
"You feel bad? If you feel so bad why didn't you tell the truth to paddy?"
"I will at the party! That's why I want you there!" She said.
"Okay..one condition, you will tell the truth in front of everyone" I said.
"Ugh okay okay"
"Okay then I'll see you on Friday"
"Great! Come at 9! And I'll send you the address on Instagram" she said as she waved goodbye and left to her minions.
Did she just invite me to her party? Or am I just having another nightmare..why did I agree? Focus Ellie! This is the only way I could talk to Paddy..wait what do I wear. Ughhh okay okay I'll just ask a friend for something.
