Part 23

He said he'd wait for me...but how can I decide..paddy and I have been bestfriends like forever..but he's so much more than that..and David is such a sweetheart and he cares so much.. I like them both. It's like deciding on your favorite condiments, you either pick ketchup or mustard...sometimes it's hard to choose, if I choose someone then the other will be sad. It's just too much to think about right now, I should get ready for school.

(Ellie showers and brushes her teeth, after she leaves her hair down also putting on a hair product making her hair more prettier than ever)

"Hey mom! I'm ready!" I said.
"Okay hun, do you want breakfast or do you want do eat at school" mom said.
"Uhh I'll eat at school"
"Hmm okay! By the way, Richard will be having dinner with us today, so no going out"
"What- mom! Is there no food at his house or something?" I said.
Mom gave me a look signaling me to be respectful.
I sighed and nodded.

Tom took me and paddy to school today. I don't know why but today felt normal like before the accident normal. But then I thought about it, paddy and I  declared we were just friends. That's it.
I got a text from a girl in my class, Rebecca, she barely texted me but she asked if I would like to go to the fair with her and a couple friends on Saturday and to invite some friends as well. I agreed.

"Hey Paddy, Rebecca asked if I wanted to go to the fair on Saturday and she said I can invite friends"i said.
Tom rudely interrupted "you have friends?" He jokes.
" rude!" I yell.
"Ellie don't you think the fair would be too much?" He says.
"What? No! I am going to be fine I swear! Besides you'll be there to protect me, right?" I said.
"I didn't last time" he said looking down.
"Paddy that was not your fault!"
"Yes it is! I shouldn't have brought you there in the first place" he said.
"You wouldn't have known, just promise me you will be there?" I ask.
He took a moment of thought before answering.
"Okay"

We got to school and I had a pretty good normal day at school, it's lunch and I sat with paddy.
"Hey guys" David says as he walks up to our table.
"Hey" paddy said.
"Hi.." I said still a bit awkward with our conversation the other day.
"Mind if I sit?" David asks.
"Nope" Paddy and I say.
"So did you guys get your invited by Rebecca to go to the fair school on Saturday?" He asks.
"Yup and we are going" I said.
"Seriously? Considering what happened?" David says.
"Yes"
"Can we not talk about this" paddy says.
"Okay great! Let's talk about prom!" I say!
"You like that?" David says.
"No, what she likes is the food part" paddy says.
"Hey not totally true, I want to make fun of people as well!" I said.
I was never a big fan of parties or anything that involves dressing up, my mom on the other hand will literally throw herself at the chance of doing prom again, I don't get what's fun about it! You dance and then look at prom queen and king!
We all laugh and eat our food. I finish the rest of school with last period, then I head to toms car, he picks us up.

"Did you do the homework for ms. Patterson?" I ask.
I was never the bright one in math class, in other subjects I do phenomenal! But when it comes to math I'm total shit. So me and Paddy help each other, he helps me in math and I help in English.
"Yeah, wanna come over so we can do homework, I need help for English" he says.
"Sur- wait actually I can't today I have a dinner thing with my mom and her boyfriend, I'll try to skip it" I said.
"Actually i think you should at least try to tolerate him.. maybe he's okay?" Paddy says.
"Paddy, i can't do that..."
Tom pulls up to our street.
"Thanks Tom, bye Paddy I'll be at your house for dinner!" I shut the door before Paddy could respond.
