In The Clouds With You

Part 20

After getting dressed, I walked slowly downstairs after hearing the guy my mom has been talking to, I finally reached the bottom floor and I look up to see a hand pointing straight at me, did he expect me to shake it?
"Hi, my name is Richard" he said with his hand still reached out.
"Ellie..." I shook his hand, but that is the only type of communication I will give him no matter what!

~2 hours later~ ( still in dinner )
"So then I fell off the balcony and into my pool" Richard told his boring story which my mom thought was funny.
"Mom can I be excused?" I was so bored.
"Honey we have talked about this" my mom said.
"But mom-" I managed to get out before he interrupted.
"I think you should listen to your mother" Richard said.
"Did I ask what you think?!" I talked back.
"ELLIE, GO TO YOUR ROOM AND GIVE ME YOUR PHONE!" my mom yelled.
"WHAT?! FINE WHATEVER MY ROOM IS WAY MORE ENTERTAINING THAN THIS DINNER!" I yelled back and stormed to my room.

About an hour later I hear a know at my window, it's David. I open the window and let him in.
"Hey.."
"Hi.." I said.
"So uh how was your night?" He said trying not to sound too awkward.
"Uhh not that great, my mom has this new boyfriend and he thinks he owns me" I said expressing how I feel.
"Dam thats- wow" he said.
"Heh yeah, anyways what about you?"
"Uh not as 'entertaining' as yours" he said.
I love that he made me laugh even in the worst situations. Like I remember this one time, last year I was so sad because I got a D- on a test and I Never get a bad grade but David reminded me that it was just one bad grade and he even made me laugh and feel better- wait I remember-
David interrupted my thoughts.
"Hey you okay? You put on a weird face just now.." he asks.
"David...I remember...I remember everything!" I said in excitement.
"Your kidding?!" He says in excitement.
"No!!" I said with a laugh of joy, I jumped in his arms and I hugged him, he hugged back and we probably stayed like that for 40 seconds.

-paddy pov-

I climbed up to Elle's window to see how the dinner went  but I saw someone there.. it was David! Why is David in my g- I mean my best friend's room...She seems to be excited about something.
They hug for a long time, they separate and just stare at each other's eyes. Are they about to kiss?! No no no no! I have to make a distraction!
As I thought of many ways to distract them I slipped on the ladder and I fell. That made a huge noise. I have to get out of here before they see me.
