Betty

I gave up on waiting for my Mom, and walked home.
I walked into the house, and started to walk upstairs.
"Where the hell have you been?" My Mom asked.
"I told you I had my first day of work today." I said.
"Lose the attitude. Did they give you any money?"
"No. I don't know when I'll get a check." I started to walk up the stairs again.
"Don't you walk away from me when I'm talking to you!" She yelled.

"Mom, I'm tired. I waited for you for an hour to pick me up. I'm ready for bed." I sighed out.
"I don't know why you're so damn ungrateful. I do everything for you! I put a roof over your head, I feed you!"
"Hardly." I muttered under my breath.
I felt her yank my hair and I was laying on the ground.
"Don't talk back to me." She growled as she kicked my side.
I could smell the alcohol on her breath.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Please stop!" I cried out.

She kicked me one last time, and walked away. I quickly got up and ran upstairs and into my room.
I locked the door, and slid down to the floor.
What did I do to deserve this?

Danielle

I pulled up to Stefania's house, and got out of the car.
I took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.
Stefania opened it and smiled.
"Ciao bella! Come in."
I walked inside, with my hands behind my back.

"What are you hiding Danielle?" She asked.
"Uh, these are for you." I gave her a bouquet of sunflowers.
"Oh bambina! Thank you! They're gorgeous." Stefania gave me a hug.
"You're welcome. I couldn't find anything as pretty as you though." I said, my face turning red.
"You're silly." She tapped my side, and went to put the flowers in a vase.
"Do you just want to eat out?" She asked.
"What?" I asked, my heart skipped a beat.
"Sorry, do you want to order out." She grabbed her delivery menus and set them on the counter.
"Oh y-yeah sure." I walked over and looked at the menus.
"What do you think about Chinese, bambina?" She read the menus over my shoulder, a little closer than she usually is.
"That's fine with me." I whispered as I felt her press up against me slightly.
"Did you say something?" She whispered in my ear.
"That's fine with me." I said a little louder. I looked down at the menus, trying to hide how red my face is.

"Are you okay bambina?" She moved my hair away from my neck.
"Y-Yes just hungry." I closed my eyes as I felt her breath on my neck.
"Don't you think it's funny how Betty asked us if we were dating?" She asked, still pressed up against my body.
"Uh huh." I tried to swallow but my mouth was dry.
"I mean, I would be lying if I said I don't have fantasies." I felt her hand lightly touch my side.
"You do?"
"Uh huh. Full on fantasies." She said as she kissed my ear.
"Stef..." I sighed.
"You can tell me to stop. My feelings won't get hurt." She gently kissed my shoulder.
"What if I don't want you to stop?" I whispered.
"Then I won't." She turned me so that I was facing her, our faces inches apart.
"Stefania I don't want to ruin our friendship. You're my best friend." I whispered, looking into her eyes.
"I don't want to either. You're my best friend as well."
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"You tell me. You can either tell me to stop and I'll order Chinese food and we'll never talk about it again, or I can kiss you, and see where this takes us."

I stayed silent for a few seconds, and Stefania pulled back.
I grabbed her hand, and pulled her against my body. I cupped her face, and kissed her lips gently.

She smiled into the kiss and placed her hands on my hips.
We broke the kiss when air became necessary to have again.
"I've been wanting to do that for a while." I whispered against her lips.
"Me too bella."

"I'd like to do it again. But can we order Chinese food first?" I said with a laugh.
She laughed, and gave me a quick peck on the lips.
"I'll order for us bambina."
