Betty
I quickly shot up and grabbed my leg. Pain was shooting through my entire body.
"Fuck." I groaned. I reached for my bag to grab my pills out, and realized I took the last one.
"Shit shit shit shit." I looked at the clock. Two thirty in the morning.
I got out of bed as quietly as I could, and snuck to the kitchen.
I opened the medicine cabinet, "Why don't we keep anything in here?" I grumbled as I rummaged through the medication.
I shut the door and walked to the freezer, and grabbed the bottle of tequila out of it.
I opened the cap and took a swig, wincing as the harsh liquid ran down my throat.
I took another swig and took the bottle to the sink, and topped it off with water. I placed the bottle back in the freezer and stumbled to bed.If I don't have any pain pills, that'll have to do the trick. They'll never notice.
I laid back down in my bed, trying to breathe slowly as the pain went away.
Danielle
"Betty! Come on! We gotta go to work!" I shouted from the kitchen.
"Coming Mom." She grumbled as she walked into the kitchen.
"Hey, you feeling okay?" I put my hand on her forehead and she pushed it away.
"I'm fine."
"What's with the attitude?"
"I don't have one."
"Mmhmm. Come on. We're running late."I walked outside with Betty closely behind me, and we both got in the car and made the drive to the studio.
Betty stared out the window the entire way, not saying a word."Hey, Betty. Wait a minute. I wanna talk to you."
"What?" She sighed as she sat back in the car.
"What's the deal with all this?" I motioned to her.
"All what? All my fucked up-ness?"
"Language. And you're not messed up."
"Okay. Whatever." She rolled her eyes and got out of the car, and started the walk to her trailer.
"Betty Spampinato-Savre!" I shouted as I followed behind her.
"What! I'm not in the mood to talk!" She turned and shouted at me.
"Just go to my trailer. You're not working today."
"What? You can't do that!"
"Yes I can. You're being disrespectful and you're my child. Go to my trailer, and sit down and stay in there."
"And what if I don't?" She crossed her arms and stared at me.
"Then you'll be grounded for a week. Now go in my trailer, and sit your ass down. Now." I stared back at her, not breaking eye contact.Betty huffed and stormed off, walking into my trailer and slamming the door.
"Whoa D. What the hell is up with the teenage hormone monster?" Barrett asked as I walked by.
"I don't know. She's being an asshole today." I said as I poured myself a cup of coffee.
"Who's an asshole?" I felt Stefania wrap her arms around me from behind.
"Our daughter."
"Wait, why is she being ass? Did she wake up grumpy?"
"I don't know. She's been snappy from the minuet she woke up. I gotta tell Krista she's not working today. She's grounded until we talk to her.""Is that really the best option bambina? Grounding her from work?"
"It's what she loves most Stef. And I've already taken it away. If I say she can work, she'll know she can do whatever she wants and we'll cave. I'm not raising a little shit head. She's gonna be respectful.""Why don't I go talk to her? She might just need someone to talk to?" Stefania suggested.
"You can try. Good luck. Try not to kill our baby girl." I gave her a kiss and she walked away.
"Barrett? Do you think she's okay?"
"She's been through a lot. It might just be catching up to her."Betty
I rummaged through the fridge in Danielle's trailer, looking for something strong enough to take away the pain.
I grabbed one of her mini shooters and quickly unscrewed the cap, downing the liquor.
I heard a knock on the door and I quickly tossed the bottle in the trash can.
"Yeah?" I called out.
"Bella? Can I come in?"
I rolled my eyes and sat down on the couch. "Yeah."
