Chapter Ten

Danielle
*One week later*

"What do you think about these?" I asked Stefania as I showed her my phone.
"Are you clothes shopping? That doesn't really look like your style."
"Not for me. For Betty. She needs new clothes." I explained as I scrolled through my cart on the website showing her everything.

"I think she'll like it." Stefania turned her attention back to her phone.
"Are you okay? You've been acting weird today."
"How am I acting weird." Stefania sighed.
"You haven't been talking much. I haven't seen you smile once today." I put my phone down and put all my attention on her.
"I'm okay Danielle."
"Now I really know somethings wrong. You hardly ever call me Danielle. Talk to me babe." I reached out and took her hand.

"What are we?"
"What?"
"What are we. Are we girlfriends? Friends? What? I mean, I basically have been living here the past week. We sleep together every night, we do everything together."
"Uh, I mean I was gonna do this a better way?" I chuckled nervously as I rubbed the back of my neck.
"Do what?"

"Just... hold on." I stood up and walked over to the closet, and reached to the top and pulled out the medium sized box I had in there.
"I was gonna make dinner tonight and give it to you then. But you can open it now." I handed her the box and sat next to her.

Stefania eyed me suspiciously as she opened the box, and it fell apart. I had made the box myself at four o'clock in the morning. It had taken hours to glue every single picture Stefania and I had taken together inside.

"Oh bambina." She smiled softly as she looked at all the pictures.
"This goes with it too." I handed her a smaller box, and she took the top off.

"Oh Danielle, this is beautiful." She gasped as she took the necklace out of the box.

"Oh bella, I love it so much." Stefania gave me a huge smile and pressed a kiss to my lips.
"Stefania, will you be my girlfriend?" I whispered against her lips.
"Sì! Sì! Of course bambina!" She wrapped her arms around me and hugged me tightly.

"While we're talking... do you uh... do you wanna move in with me? With me and Betty?" I asked.
"Wait, really?"
"Yes. I mean, you basically live here already. With Covid going on, if you go back home we'll have to quarantine apart. Why not do it together? I really care about you Stefania. And I want to do everything with you, all the good, all the bad, everything."
"Maybe we should ask Betty to see how she feels about it first. Of course my answer is yes, but I don't want to do anything to make her uncomfortable. This is her home now too." Stefania said while playing with my fingers.
"God, you're so perfect." I said with a smile.
"That's you bambina."

Betty

I walked out of my room and into the kitchen.
"Betty? Can you come in the living room for a minuet?" Danielle called.
Fuck. I'm in trouble.

I slowly walked in, my hands shaking as I fiddled with my fingers.
"Y-Yes?"
"Sit down bella." Stefania said with a soft smile.

She doesn't want me anymore. She's already getting rid of me.

I sat down in the chair next to the couch, my legs bouncing up and down.
"Am I in trouble?" I asked with a shaky voice.

"What? No of course not. Why would you think that?" Danielle asked.
"I-I don't know." I said quietly.
"We just wanted to talk to you for a minuet."

"Okay." I took a deep breath to calm myself.
"We have a question to ask you. And I want you to answer honestly, not what you think we want you to say."
I nodded and looked up at them.

"What do you think about Stefania moving in with us?" Danielle asked.
"Wait, really? You're asking me?"
"Of course. This is your house too bambina. We want you to be comfortable in your own home." Stefania reached over and grabbed my hand.

"Yes! Oh my God yes! It's gonna be so freaking amazing!" I hopped out of my seat and tackled both of them in a big hug.
"Wait does that mean you're officially dating?" I asked excitedly.
"Sì. Danielle just asked me." Stefania smiled at me.
"Oh my God! That's amazing! I'm so happy for you two."
"Thank you kiddo. But this stays between us three until we figure out how Krista is going to react, okay?" Danielle told me.
"Of course. She messaged me earlier and said she had talked to you about a video chat?"
"Yeah she messaged me too. I'm supposed to get on in twenty minuets." Stefania said.
"Us too. I guess it's about filming." Danielle ran her fingers through her hair and sighed.

"I'll go into the other room while you and Betty stay in here for it. You also need to tell her that you're Betty's legal guardian now so she can update everything."
"Got it. I'm gonna go ahead and set everything up so we'll be ready for when it's time."

Twenty minuets later Danielle and I were sitting in front of the laptop waiting for Krista to call.
"You good kiddo?" Danielle asked.
"Yes. I'm just nervous."
"Nothing to be scared of. It's just a call."

Krista called and Danielle reached over and answered it.
"Danielle and Betty! How are you both doing?"
"We're good. Just taking everything day by day. How are you?" Danielle asked.
"I'm good. I wanted to talk to you about filming. I'm going to add Stefania in since you three will have the most scenes together."

A few seconds later Stefania's face came up on the laptop.
"Ciao Krista!"
"Hi Stefania! Okay, so here's the plan."

Krista talked for a while about the masks and procedures that we had to take during this time.
"We should be able to resume filming in two weeks. Do you three have any questions?"
"Actually, Betty and I needed to talk to you. I'm officially her legal guardian and she's living with me." Danielle reached over and squeezed my hand.
"Amazing! I'm very happy for you both. I'll have you bring any paper work that you have so we can get it updated in the system. Betty, how are you doing sweetie?"
"I'm doing good. I'm happy here." I gave her a small smile.
"I'm glad to hear that. If there's no more questions I have a few more calls to make."

The three of us said goodbye to Krista and hung up the call.

"See? I told you it was nothing." Danielle hugged me gently.
"I know. I just get nervous." I said as Stefania walked into the living room.
"What do you two want for dinner? I'm starving." She asked as she plopped down next to me.
"Chinese?" Danielle asked.
"That's fine with me." I shrugged.

"Chinese it is then."
