S1E2: Gorilla War
After the revelation of well, the whole 'Alison can see them' thing, the ghosts had come up with an idea to test whether it was actually true. Some of the ghosts had taken the challenge to try and scare the living girl, namely Robin who seemed almost too enthusiastic to do the job. Lucille remembered when the caveman ghost scared her after the first few days of adjustment into the ghostly world; he would often flicker her lights on and off and jump through her walls at the most peculiar times of the day.
"Testing!" Alison screamed at the sudden appearance of the caveman ghost in her bathroom, grabbing a toilet scrubber and rushing at him. Whilst Robin moved through the door, Alison collided with it causing a nasty sounding thump.
"Well, that seems pretty conclusive." Captain nodded. "She can also hear us."
"No, really?" Lucille questioned sarcastically, shaking her head as the bathroom door opened and Alison quickly moved past the ghosts as she rushed off calling for her husband, the ghosts quickly following her up to Fanny's room.
"Mike!" She exclaimed, letting a sigh of relief out when her husband appeared before her. "They're back!"
"Who?" Mike questioned, looking around and clearly not seeing any of the ghosts.
"Them!" Alison pointed wildly. Mike followed where she pointing, but still couldn't see no one. Fanny moved through her bedroom door and portrait, startling Alison.
"Don't shriek, you ill-bred hen. It is unseemly for a lady too..." Fanny grumbled, pausing as she saw the portrait of her husband. "Him! Cover that up at once. You beastly wretch! I refuse to taunted in my own home by that lying, cheating..."
"Ex-husband. You know how it is." Julian chuckled awkwardly, as Alison stumbled past them, frantically trying to avoid the ghosts.
"Oh, we're the same height!" Kitty squealed, pushing her head through her bedroom door and into the hallway.
"Do you need a tea?" Mike asked her. Alison rushed down the hallway even further, in a futile attempt to put space between her and the ghosts.
"Lady coming through!" Thomas exclaimed, pushing Robin against the opposite wall. Lucille gently pulled Thomas off the caveman, giving the poet a stern look.
"What's your favourite colour?" Kitty asked as the ghosts crowded in the hallway, facing Alison. Mike walked through Cap, Thomas and the two Buttons, causing them all to groan and shudder.
"Oh, I do wish they wouldn't do that!" Captain grumbled
"Aly!" Mike tried to calm her down.
"There's a cave one and there's an Army one and there's one with no pants on-" Alison rambled, fear desperately clutching at her as she pointed over his shoulder at them.
"And a first from Cambridge!" Julian cut in with offence.
"And a first from Cambridge!" Alison repeated.
"Okay, okay." Mike took hold of his wife's shoulders, making her focus on him. "I know it may seem very real, but remember what they said at the hospital, yeah? 'May experience visual disturbances'."
Alison answered him whilst pointing to her ears. "But I can hear them too!"
"And my Uncle Graeme, he though he could smell toast, but you know what? There was no toast."
"He was having a stroke!" Alison exclaimed. "He died, Mike."
"Okay, bad example." Mike sighed, but didn't stop trying to calm his wife. "I'm just saying, think about it- what's more likely? That you can see ghosts, or that you're still suffering from severe concussion?"
