S2E5: Bump In The Night

Alison and Mike's day began with a delivery from the catering company that had been hired for Clare's wedding. There were many boxes of cutlery, ceramics and everything needed for a proper meal during the wedding (other than the food). The ghosts kept themselves mostly away from the delivery men, though a couple would hover around to see what was in the boxes.

"I had no idea that so much went into a wedding." Mike commented.

"Speaking as your wife, that was clear." Alison told him, handing him a box.

"Five boxes, six, seven, eight." Captain counted off, using Humphrey's hands to keep track. "In here. And ten in the lobby. Excellent" He bounced on the balls of his feet. "Right. Lift from the knees! Trust me, you don't want a hernia."

Alison lifted the box, getting startled by Humphrey's head. "Head!"

"What?" Mike asked.

"...chog." Alison quickly corrected herself, looking to the worker who was with the other boxes. "Hedgehog, sorry. I thought I saw a hedgehog."

"Where?"

"I've got Humphrey." Lucille dodged around Alison and scooped up his head.

"Did you?" He shook his head. "No."

"Chase it out with a broom. They'll leave fleas in the rug!" Humphrey commented as Lucille placed him on the windowsill. "Oh, thank you, Lucille."

"Robin would leave fleas in the rug if he were alive." Lucille commented, Captain stifled a laugh though Lucille could see his moustache twitching.

"Now, the other bit. I have you down for night lookout this evening." Captain told Humphrey's head.

"Again?" He complained. "Can't he do it? I mean... um.. me do it?"

"Hardly. There's a lot of valuable ordnance on base, and, while your counterpart here is very dexterous, observation is not his strong suit." His point was proven by the body wandering around and slamming into his shoulder whilst walking away.

"Okay. Fine." Humphrey grumbled. "Pick me up at six. Literally." He chuckled.

"Very good." He moved to overlook what Alison and Mike were doing.

"Oh, no, no, no! I know you're on a budget, but where are the oyster forks?" Fanny complained.

"They're not having oysters." Alison told her.

"What?!"

"Neither would you if you were bloody allergic to them." Lucille grumbled, glaring at the very thought of them. "I'm just saying, it was a rough couple of days."

"How much? To hire knives and forks?!" Mike exclaimed, looking over the itinerary of stuff from the company.

"It's wedding silver, Mike. It's got to be top quality." She carried a box out into the hallway. "Don't try to bend them!" Mike hesitated with the spoon he was holding but still tried to bend it anyway.

"I'll make love to you, if you want me to. And I'll hold you tight, baby all through the night..." Julian sang, doing a small dance alongside it.

"I don't want him to!" Mary mumbled, averting her eyes as Julian lifted his leg.

"I'll make love to you..." Julian continued to sing, completely oblivious to the fact half of the ghosts had stopped paying attention and the other half were dutifully avoiding watching him dance.
