S3E1: The Bone Plot
"Whether Elizabeth's spies knew about the letter is still a matter of much conjecture." Zara told the 'viewers' as she held a piece of paper in her hands. She was the speaker of the documentary crew that had come to the house to capture some shots and reveal a story of one of the many dwellers of Button House.
"Hello!" Julian walked into the room, joining the rest of the ghosts there. "Where's she been hiding?"
"She's not dead, Julian." Alison told him.
"The good ones never are." Thomas added, clearly speaking of Alison.
"It's just a costume. They're making a documentary- History's Greatest Plots. Apparently, there was a coup planned here back in the day."
"Hey! Look, that wasn't a coup per se. That was an informal discussion with some parliamentary colleagues about Maggie's leadership style. You know?" Julian defended himself.
"She's not talking about the '80s, mate. Look at her!" Pat told him.
"Yes, not everything's 'bout you, Julian." Lucille commented, giving Julian a smirk as the Tory glared at her.
"What plot she talk abutt? About?" Robin questioned.
"Dunno. That's just what they told us. I thought you might know." Robin grunts in response, pointing in Lucille's direction. Everyone knew that if you wanted to talk history she was the one to go to. "Lucille?"
"Uhh, well there were many plots to Elizabeth during her reign. Many wanted Mary Queen Of Scots on the throne. One of the plots corresponding with Mary was uh... name's gone... started with a 'b' though. Elizabeth was generally in a lot of danger, and often undermined as she's the Virgin Queen." Lucille explained. "The plot was discovered and well Mary was sent to her execution as a result; Elizabeth had been unsure of executing her but had no choice once her involvement in the plot was found."
"It's possible Elizabeth's forces simply happened upon the plotters -" Zara let out a scream as a something buzzed around her head. Though some were startled by her reaction, most burst into laughter.
"One for the bloopers!" Pat laughed.
Captain felt Pat staring at him and turned slightly to face him. "What?"
"Do you know, I don't think I've ever seen you laugh."
"Yeah." Captain turned back to the reporter.
"Er, do you mind?" Fanny interrupted Alison and Mike loudly. "Some of us are trying to learn something here."
"Ooh, here we go." Lucille gestured for them to quieten down.
"...regarded by many as a martyr, a mastermind, a hero and perhaps the most important person ever to have walked these grounds-"
"Is it me? Sounds like me." Thomas questioned.
"-Which is why the history books echo with the name, Sir Humphrey Bone." The ghosts let out a sound as they recognised part of the name.
"Heavens! Why, I think she means..." Kitty started, all of them turning to Humphrey, only to find his body stood there.
"Oh, it's fallen off again!" Mary complained.
"Humphrey? Where is he?" Fanny questioned as the ghosts started to look around for his head.
"Wait, Lucille, you're close with Humphrey-" Pat started turning to the girl.
"Oh, yes, yes." Lucille waved a hand. "I had no idea he was famous for that plot... or that his surname was Bone. Wonder why he never told me about that one."
