S4E1: Happy Holiday

A/N: Here it is folks! S4! Just a reminder to keep spoilers to a minimum, and to maybe not read the season 4 stuff before you watch the show.

Lucille was getting really fed up with the Plague Ghosts' obsession with Thomas. A healthy crush was fine, a normal thing that happened, but being used as a messenger was really starting to get on her nerves. There were only so many questions she could ask Thomas before he started to get suspicious - then again, he did LOVE to talk about himself, so it would be unlikely that he would ask - it was more likely to be Cap... or Julian... potentially Fanny. Honestly, any of the other ghosts if they paid attention to her and Thomas for more than 2 seconds.

Now, this wasn't to say that she didn't adore the Plague Ghosts were her whole heart, and that she didn't adore Thomas either, but it would be so much easier if they would talk to Thomas instead of going through her. She had an afterlife to live as well! Honestly, she blamed Alison for putting that painting in the basement - it didn't ever actually look that bad! Thomas was being dramatic, as he is, and spoke ahead of himself, as he does. She would have tried to get it placed elsewhere, but the Plague Ghosts seemed to love it, amongst the very few things they did after they get ditched down there with them. (Lucille had had very strong choice words about that which Alison had to endure - Alison said it was the only place Mike refused to go to, Lucille retorted that the house had enough forgotten rooms that could be used to store things in - especially that room hidden behind a tapestry; whoever decided it was a good idea to put a tapestry over a door needed to be shot (Lucille would never say this in front of Thomas) but it was a handy hiding place.)

Anyway! After much pushing (honestly, it wasn't that much when she reminded the Plague Ghosts that they were indeed ghosts and the walls had deep enough cavities if you were brave enough to risk it), the Plague Ghosts had plucked enough courage to follow venture outside of the basement and see if they would be lucky enough to get to meet/see/speak to Thomas. Lucille was lowkey proud of the fact that Plague Ghosts were willing to move around the house, they had adamantly refused for absolute centuries to venture upstairs and then not to mention the whole incident with Julian after it turned out Mick gave everyone the plague...

Whilst the Plague Ghosts were busy following Thomas around, Lucille had double checked on Jemima (the girl was still lingering around Button House, but even Lucille had to admit that she was rarely around that much. This wasn't for lack of trying, but the girl had found a love for nature and spent half her time somewhere deep in the woods), and was pleased to report that she was having a grand time listening to some fairy tale audiobook that Lucille had convinced Alison to get. Lucille was unsure about whether or not Alison truly realised it was for the girl, but she could get away with asking Alison for anything with little complaint, unlike some people (cough Julian cough).

Now  though, she had joined the other ghosts (bar Thomas) in the TV room, sitting on the couch  next to Robin whilst cradling Humphrey's head in her lap. She had found his head under one of the tables in the west wing; Humphrey was adamant that he didn't have a clue how he got there, but Lucille was damn sure that Robin had been moving Humphrey without her knowing.

"They're early! Alison, I can see their car!" Mike shouted up the stairs, likely staring out one of the windows on the second floor like a hawk.

"What is he talking about?" Fanny questioned.

"Our first guests, down at the Gatehouse." Alison answered.

"The Gatehouse?"

"So exciting!" Kitty squealed.
