(Trigger warning: this chapter will be a little bit more gruesome.)
I sigh to myself as I stretch my back, despite wanting to go to bed there was something gnawing at the back of my neck - begging for me to check it out, and like the curious soul I am I went straight for it.
"I guess that is that," I say, looking at three bodies that are lying dead in the woods near the school, "Something doesn't make entirely sense here - is Caster siphoning their lifeforce for more power?"
"Yes," Jeanne says, "We should get out of here, leave the dead."
"I wasn't planning on doing a burial service," I joke, "But yeah, on all things serious we better get our asses out of here before it is too late."
I then feel a shudder through my body as a lot of mana is being spent at a temple shrine in the distance.
"I feel it too," she states, "A lot of mana is being spent not very from here."
My gut is telling me not to, but I have to, especially when there is a fight between servants... then we can use this as an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. This Caster is worrying and I have a feeling that Caster would side with them.
"Let's go," I finally say, earning her smirk and nod of approval I augment my entire body as we dash towards it.
Keeping my sights on the general direction I don't cloud my senses with useless information in hopes that I can either track residual mana or any presences near us. We are going in completely blind and with no idea what is to come.
In the distance I see Shirou's Saber dash towards the temple steps.
"There is-" my eyes widen as I grab Jeanne's hand pulling her to the side as a pillar of stone, flies towards us.
Managing to get well away from it, we turn our attention to the four of them watching us with plain faces.
I then grit my teeth - Jeanne... this isn't a fight we should take.
She nods - I know that, but I don't think they will let us escape.
What do you want to do?
She looks at me through the corner of her eyes with a serious expression - Run and run as quick as you can. They won't let either of us leave but my chance of surviving is much larger than yours.
I look at them, still standing in the distance, "Right... we should - no! Wait those are not real-"
Jeanne reacts in mere split seconds, blocking a chain blade's edge with her flagstaff. She then steps in front of me pushing me back with an incredible force that sends me spinning around into a run.
Don't go sacrificing yourself!
Worry about yourself!
I nod to myself. I lift my hand to the side as I create a wall of flame that I create on the opposite side of the road. If they are using any form of invisibility it will be broken the moment they touch the flame.
Basic invisibility can be broken through excessive actions - I know that neither Saber nor Berserker won't have that type of ability at their disposal. This must be one of the Masters.
"What the f-" I get hit by something traveling at incredible speed through the flame, I breathe hard and quickly as I feel my heart about to burst out of my chest, "That hurt like a bitch."
I shake my head as I regain my vision, I see a crumpled-up car just next to me. I really would have died a very long time ago if it wasn't for my fortifications.
