Elvina ran a hand through her hair, coming across the same door for the third time now. It was starting to get awfully clear that she was lost, no matter how much she denied it to herself.

"Okay," she muttered, looking around, "There has got to be someone around here that knows the stupid way."

She walked down the hall again before hearing a sweet voice.

"Hello, are you lost?"

Elvina whirled around coming face to face with the maid from yesterday. Thea.

She gave her a half smile, trying not to show her frustration, "I was wondering if you can help me find his grace?"

Thea hesitated before clenching her jaw, the contemplation clear in her eyes. It was a few moments before something settled and she answered, "He's in the forest training the warriors with Lord Draven."

"What side?"

"The east, miss," Thea answered.

"Thank you," Elvina said gratefully before taking off down the hallway. As far as she was concerned, any exit from this labyrinth would do. She'd find her way around the city later.

She ran back to the door that she had come from and opened the window next to it, glad it was only a five feet jump. Elvina opened the window and leaped out without a second thought. She recognized the symbol on the wall from the night of the fight and realized she had no idea where the east side of the forest was.

Muttering profanities under her breath, she walked up to a person and gave him the best smile she could muster.

Which wasn't much considering she was really close to screaming.

"Hello sir," she said, "Do you know where the east forest is?"

He posted right behind him and Elvina couldn't help but notice that he didn't have any pointy ears like the elves back at the castle.

Thanking him, she ran towards the trees. The crossbow appeared on her back, making her stumble as her overall weight increased. She still hadn't figured out how the crossbow kept following her around. As far as she was concerned, it wasn't magic and the abnormal behavior never ceased to surprise her.

Elvina ran through the trees as the wind whipped through her hair. The freshness of the red tinted forest made her feel alive, despite the fact that it did slightly look like flames. She slowed down when she heard voices and the clicks of weapons.

Either a crossbow, she thought, or maybe a sword or another metal weapon.

She was satisfied to see at least fifty men led by Kai and the olive green haired man who she'd learn was Lord Draven. Elvina watched curiously from the shadows of the leaves, mimicking the movements of trainees as the instructors yelled out commands.
