Elvina stumbled over a fallen log but she continued to run, the map in her hand wrinkling as her hands pumped back and forth. Her breathing came out in rhythmic beats while her arched ears listened for anything unusual. She paused, placing her hand on her knees while she regained her breath. Her head hung low while her breathing came out harshly.
Walking to a small rock, she sat down with a grunt and opened her map.
Elvina had been running for about half a day, on and off and she checked the map to figure out how far she was. Typically, there was a landmark. At the last stop, there was a statue of a woman with a crown and sword covered in green vegetation. It took her a while to find but she found it eventually.
Her eyes raked the map as she spotted the landmark. It looked like a...leaf? Perhaps like a spade suit.
Elvina had no idea what to make of so instead, she got up and walked around, looking for something like a spade. Luck wasn't on her side so instead of trying to find it, she looked around for a stream. Her ears strained, trying to look for running water and after a few moments, she was satisfied to find a short and delicate stream with flowing water. It looked relatively clean so she crouched down and dipped her hands into the cool water and brought them out, sipping from them. Once she was done, she shook them, getting all the excess water off her hands before she wiped them on her dirty robe.
Elvina looked around for some berries and stuff like that. Her stay under the waterfall had taught her what was needed to survive in these forests. By the end of the hour, Elvina had eaten enough to start running again so, without further delay, she checked her map, set her path, and continued on her journey.

Kai stared at the city from the balcony, unmoving, not feeling anything. In his rage, he'd banished Elvina without a second thought. The event refused to process through his head as he heard Reika come up beside him.
"What are you thinking?"
Kai didn't answer, looking out into the bustling streets where commanders gave orders and army men complied.
"I banished her," he whispered. His voice was hoarse as his mind couldn't fathom what had just happened.
Reika snorted, "You just found that out?" She sounded like she hated him.
"Please tell me she didn't leave."
"Do you not remember the events from five hours ago," she snapped, "She left, in front of all of us."
Kai had the urge to take her blade and simply plunge it in himself.
"We're leaving for war Kai," she said tiredly, "Join if you want."
