Clint's POV~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

We all stood in a silence, what Sophie had said sinking in. She knew there were people after her, and she had hidden it from them. She had even thought about running. AGAIN. Why. Why does she constantly hide these things from us?

There was a loud crash, as Tony suddenly stands up, his chair flipping onto it's back. "You knew about this, didn't you?!" He yells, pointing at Loki. Loki bolts up as well, and soon everyone in the room is standing.

"I knew nothing about this, Stark!" He yells back, and I could tell he was frustrated.

"Guys, she's been stressed. It's probably nothi-" Bruce starts in a calm voice, trying not to raise tempers.

"Stressed?" Nat asks in a disbelieving voice. "Stressed?! Call it what it is Bruce. She's terrified." Nat yells.

"Do you really think we believe that she hasn't said a thing about this to you?" Tony asks Loki. "She tells you everything, and you want us to believe that?"

"Don't you think, " Loki seethes. "that if she had told me about this, that I would have tried to protect her in every way possible?! You midguardians may be thorns in my side, but if it protected her, I would've done anything!"

"How is it nothing, Bruce?" Nat asks.

"Nat..." I warn. I knew her, and she could let her temper get out of control.

"Stay out of this Clint!" She yells turning to me. "She just-"

"QUIET ALL OF YOU!" Fury's voice booms as he enters the room. Nat, Steve, and I snap to attention, standing straight and turning to Fury. I had just now noticed that Steve hadn't said anything.

"Where's Sophie?" Loki asks, looking around. My head snaps over to look in the room, and sure enough, she's gone.

"I let her go back to Stark tower. She didn't look like she wanted to be here and let you all yell at her." He says, looking at Tony and Loki pointedly. "And I didn't want her here for this." He continues. "She's been through enough."

"Here for what?" Steve asks cautiously. Fury sighs.

"We finally broke through the firewalls on the hard drives you were able to get from Fuller's organization." He says. "And what was on there... well... you should see for yourselves."

He flicks on one of the wall screens, and we all slowly sit down as he selects a file. On the screen, a video starts to roll. "Subject one is waking up after being acquired again after seven years. We are studying how the subject will react. Vital signs are showing that the subject is about to wake." A voice says. On the screen, an unconscious Sophie lays strapped to a table, just like I had found her during the rescue, but noticeably healthier, her clothes whole, her hair still long.

"This is too slow. Wake her." A voice says after a minute.

"Are you sure Dr. Fuller?" The first voice asks.

"I'm sure. Shock her." Fuller's voice says. A moment goes by before Sophie's eyes suddenly snap open. Her entire body arches against the restraints, and she shuts her eyes, waiting. Her eyes slowly open, and she takes in her surroundings, any hope or fight in her visibly leaving her. She starts to struggle against the straps, and we watch as her skin starts to glow. She was trying to melt them.

"Shock her." Fuller's voice says again. Sophie's struggles instantly stop, and it's obvious that she's screaming in pain. "Five seconds, then light." Fuller says. Five long seconds pass, and a blaring light appears right above Sophie, putting the rest of the room in shadows. She flinches at the sudden light, squinting her eyes. A voice in the room starts to tsk.
