Luz p.o.v

"you wanna keep talking shit?" i yell out to the boy down on the ground. i keep my baseball bat on my shoulder, looking down to the scared face of this one kid named Mattholomule. he decided to talk shit about me during third period, so after school i chased him down an alley and decided to beat his ass.

"Luz Noceda!" oh fuck, i know who's voice that is. i turn my head to see my mother running up to me. she looked furious. i wasn't scared of anyone, except my mother. my mom was still in her scrubs, so that meant she probably was driving home and saw me chasing Mattholomule.

"ah fuck." i mumbled as my mom was closing distance. i couldn't run, i live with the damn woman.

my mom grabs me by my ear and starts dragging me to the car curing out in spanish. "Qué demonios te pasa?!" she asked throwing me in the front passenger seat. my ass is going to be killed when i get home.

"mamá that kid was talking shit! i had to show him that he shouldn't do that!" i defend as my mom gets in the front seat.

"mija! it does not matter, you shouldn't hurt people! you don't understand how many calls i've gotten from parents and the school over you hurting other students!" she yells turning the car on and starting to drive away. "you're going to boarding school."

"mamá! i'm not going to a boarding school! what will that change? are you expecting it to make me a better kid or something?" i yell out shocked that my own mom would say that.

"honestly yeah! you have not tried fixing anything about your behavior! we've tried therapy, homeschooling, interventions, talking it out, hell even one time i tried supporting it! but nothing worked! mija i can't go on with this, i love you too much. you're going to stay with a old friend of mine in Bonesborough." she stated firmly, i was in deep shit and i knew nothing could get me out of this. i crossed my arms and sighed, i shifted towards the window and looked out of it.

one week later i was packing my shit. my jr. year of high school was over three days prior. since i was supposed to be only staying for the school year i didn't need to bring everything, although i probably should since it's going to be my senior year anyways. i packed four boxes of things. first, my box full of clothes. second, my usual essentials. third, a box with miscellaneous things like my baseball bat and things to hang in my room. fourth, all my music shit. and by music shit i mean; my vinyl player, all my vinyls, guitar, keyboard, music sheets, headphones, all my old mp3 players, cds, cd player, and of course my drumsticks. i also brought my drum set but that didn't count as inside the fourth box.

i pack all my shit into a tiny ass u-haul and got into the front seat of my moms car. she gets in and starts the car. "i can't believe you're making me do this." i say looking over to her. she takes a deep sigh.

"mija, i'm sorry. but this is for your own good, you can't be causing ruckus like this. you'll be in good hands. Eda is a lovely person, she has a dog named King and a bird named Hooty. she lives in the woods right outside of town. she even bought you a skateboard, isn't that very sweet?" my mom tried to reassure me.

"it's whatever i guess, but i'm just pissed i have to go to a preppy ass school full of preppy ass people." i tell her crossing my arms.

"mija! language! i know this will be hard but it's for the best, i talked with the principal and their school is known for taking in rebellious teens and making the best out of it." she tells me starting to pull out of the driveway. i roll my eyes and huff out a breath of air. let's get this show on the road.

two and a half hours and some more bickering later, we finally enter Bonesborough. this town honestly looked pretty decent. nothing was too crazy or out of the ordinary, looked like a rich ass little town. as we drive through town i only saw one music store, at least they had one i guess. after driving through town which only took thirty minutes we pull into a dirt road, forrest all around. it was much more different than town. after about a five minute drive a house came into view. it looked way older than town, it had a big stained glass window and a broken down pillar behind the house. why was there so many damn doors?

my mom pulls up the the house and puts the car in park. "you ready?" she asked looking over to me.

"as ready as i'm ever going to be." i say shrugging my shoulders. i open the car door and hop out, i take a look around me. i hear a door open and look over to the house, once opened a little dog ran out barking and a older lady stepped out. her hair grey and a owl on her shoulder.

"Eda!" my mom yells out running over. she gives that 'Eda' lady a hug and waves me over. i roll my eyes and walk over. "Eda, this is my daughter Luz. Luz, this is Eda, my old friend i was telling you about."

"nice to meet ya kid." Eda said crossing her arms and shifting her weight onto one leg. she seemed sassy, we're either going to get along great or this will be the worst year of my life.

"nice to meet you too." i say tilting my head to the side. my mom claps her hands together and and said something about getting my things out of the u-haul. after about an half an hour of getting things out and brought up through the house to my room, Eda offered us lunch. my mom happily agreed.
