Chapter#16: Training Day

I woke up from a call from my mom.
"Hello?" I asked quietly.
"How's your trip been?" My mom asked.
"Good! It's been fun." I answered.
"You're lying."
"Excuse me, what?"
"Your voice goes highway when you're lying." My mom continued."  What's happening?"
"Mom, did anything come from great-grandma or great-grandpa?"
"I don't know why?"
I told her...everything. I know, I promised, but something led me to say to her. So anyway, there is an eerie silence.
"I'll ask your dad, and I'll get back to you." She responded.
Then she hung up on me. I turned to see Missy awake.
"What did you just do?" She asked.
"I'm sorry," I responded. "I just want someone to know where we are if something happened."
I began to cry. She hugged me.
"I know."
"No one else can know."
"I know, and they won't."

I woke up that morning; Ollie was talking to her mom. She had fear in her voice. I knew I couldn't be mad. We both headed downstairs for breakfast. Ollie sat down next to Evan, and I sat next to her.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
She then shook her head. I got up and got two plates. I placed one of them in front of Ollie and myself.
"Thank you." She mouthed.
Zack came out of his room.
"Morning." He said, immediately heading to the kitchen.
"So, what are we doing today?"Evan asked.
Like something from a movie, Sam kicked the door open.
"We are figuring out our powers," He explained.
He was holding a leather notebook like it was a bible. He then proceeded to get breakfast. We finished and got changed, and headed outside. Sam got on top of a chair.
"Our great-grandparents are who we inherited our powers from."He explained.
He walked us to an archery range. Naturally, I and a lot of others were concerned.
"My grandpa made it for my family."

I started to get concerned when Ollie came downstairs clearly and got done with crying. Then Sam was acting weird, and then we got to the archery range.
"Ollie, stand at the edge of the range," Sam demanded.
"What?"Ollie questioned.
"Your the only one who doesn't know your powers yet!" He continued. "How are you going to do that?"
She walked backward and then grabbed my hand. Sam soon took out bows and arrows.
"Oh!" She said.
"No," I responded.
She kissed me. She was shaking. I hugged her. She then whispered in my ear.
"I'm scared."
"It's going to be okay," I said.
She jumped over the blockade. Sam started to hand out the bows. Missy ran to the barrier.
"Tell them, tell him, Ollie," Missy yelled.
"They won't believe me," Ollie responded.
She was shaking as Sam began to shoot. Finally, Zack and I managed to get the bow out of Sam's hand.
"No!" Missy screamed.
I turned to see Ollie collapse. I ran over the barrier. I grabbed her and ran to the house. She caressed my face.

I thought today was going to be normal. Then Sam began to act weird. I know everything was going dark when we got to the archery range. When Ollie got shot, something strange happened. After Evan left, my eye saw something on the ground. There was an arrow covered in blood and broken. I lifted it.
"Hey guys," I said, showing everyone the arrow.
Sam was getting the shit kicked out of him by Missy. Eva jumped over the barrier. She examined the arrow.
"Holy shit." She said. "This couldn't be her. Unless."
We both looked at each other.

I woke up the following day with a weird voice in my head. That without getting much sleep. Something hypnotized me. The feeling didn't stop until missy stopped kicking my ass. I rose and sat against the wall. I saw the panicked faces of Missy and Bailey.
"What happened?"I asked.
Missy and Bailey turned around, and Missy started to charge in my direction. Bailey stopped her by grabbing her waist and walking outside. She then locked Missy outside. The vines dropped from my waist.
"What happened?"I asked again.
"What the hell happened today, sam?"She asked.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"You don't remember?"
"No."
We both looked at each other and then the journal.

Eva and I's first day was crazy, right. After everything happened, I didn't know if I could trust him. I helped him up.
"You know the others are going to lock you up," I explained.
I explained to him everything that happened.
"Oh."He responded.
"Oh?"I asked.
"Makes sense."
"What?"
"The reason why missy kicked the shit out of me...It makes sense."
I laughed; we finally made it to the backdoor of the house.
"Do you want to go in?"I asked.
"Nope." He responded.
